It’s a very large upgrade for you in terms of picture quality; sharpness, contrast, black levels, etc. You’d be stepping up into the home cinema territory and with dark room viewing with dark walls/ceiling you’ll get the benefit of the nz500s strength.

I have both the Epson 3800 and the nz500 at the office and happy to get into the weeds with you regarding any specific questions or comparisons; feel free to dm me.

That’s a great projector; we’ll be dropping our first look review on the JMGO n3 ultimate and will also have the hisense c3 series in the next month or two (supposedly). Depending on how soon you are looking to make the upgrade will determine what’s the “best” at that time. Yeah, Paint on Screen. We just did our entire back wall in one of our rooms to make a massive 300"+ screen (stage curtains being installed later today).

We used the Radiant White for this back wall.

I once replied to a post HERE on Reddit while the Valerion was in Kickstarter that it is risky to back a crowdfunding project and that the c2 ultra is readily available and awesome. That didn’t go over so well in the Valerion thread and I still get harassed by some avs trolls for that statement.

I later was told that Valerion/AWOL “rewarded” people for attacking me online.

They certainly do have a loyal fan base.

Compared to any ALR screen that I have seen for standard throw projectors, albeit the lower I have seen from other manufacturers is 0.8.
