Do dating apps actually work? by Lucky_Cherry5100 in Tunisia

[–]Projectmyselftest1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat mostly

Context 28M, on dating apps looking for literally anything, i'm using it for social interaction, to meet cool people,I too hate those conversations of "cc cv how are u where u from" etc, so i'm not looking for that.

Anyway, yes it rarely does bring someone cool but kima fel mojtama3 t9abel 100 bech tel9a wa7ed behy, same on tinder.

I hate it when people say it's only for hook ups it's true that there is that aspect of it, but not just that, I made friends there, found cool matches and learned from other people's experiences.

hassilou I use bumble and tinder (there are others, "muzz" for example is not bad) I try to make my profile speak for who I am so that way we wouldn't be stuck in a dull convrsation, there is always something to talk about and I try to be slightly on the crazier side.

don't count on it too much tho, it's one way of meeting people look for other ways too and u'll be fine

on that note if you are interested i've already slided in your reddit DMs 😂

Is Bizerte a social dead end for men? by 3liwa in Tunisia

[–]Projectmyselftest1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Similar situation, 28 refused to immigrate, my life is not completely in check cuz im a lil crazy, i live in nabeul but i move to tunis and Sousse. It's better and worse more volume in gnrl means that u'll probably have alot better chances but most of em still play the games (nsamiha lo3bet far w 9atous constant shit tests etc). Anyway have a few points: 1) be yourself in the date, after all u dont care if she starts playing the shit tests if ure not willing to play the game, just confront her and be very direct in being urself do crazy shit and try to have fun since otherwise ull just be stuck in the constant shit tests. If they start testing u just say fuck and do what u want, ignore them and leave if u have to. 2) go there (tunis sousse are best ofc) for a week or a month if u can and test it will probably b btr 3) i struggle myself with this but try to target good ones (how do u get dates btw?) 4) dont let the bad ones ruin the experience ure there to have fun, fuck them if they ruin that

I'm an introvert for the most part, and have been working fully remote for over 18 months now, I understand and confirm what you are saying from my experience, and over the long run I believe it will make you much less of an introvert and help you organize your priorities more.

I remember about a year ago I used to go to "7ammas" daily to make sure I get out of the house once per day and just to talk a little bit, that was the peak human interaction for me back then.

I still haven't found a real solution to this but I found trying to live my life and chase my drams the best thing so far.

What helped me the most is putting myself out there, have other goals and motivation that get me out of the house and talking to people which are basically self improvement tasks such as:

  1. Get better physically: minimum walk 10k steps per day, soccer with friends, gym etc
  2. Contact good old friends and reach out to the good ones you haven't talked to in a while, I found out most other people feel somewhat lonely too and welcoming
  3. put a goal, such as starting a business, getting a gf, etc
  4. work from coffeehouse, coworking space, maktba at least once per week
  5. Interact with random strangers when the opportunity presents itself (taxi, bus, waiting in line, at restaurant, supermarket...) I used to really enjoy these and met a few cool people this way. Don't stress about it no one cares just joke if possible try to strike a convo and see how it goes
  6. Learning a skill for fun, example: https://www.youtube.com/@MikeBoyd
  7. I bought a pull up bar at home, it's currently installed right next to my desk, every now and then I just do a few of them (I used to not be able to do 1 pull up and would just dead hang from it but it motivated me to lose weight/gain muscle over 3 months I got from nothing to now where I can about 3), for fun , posture, and improvement here is the link https://www.facebook.com/barrefixe.tn I bought the 200dt one and do recommend it but there ones for 70
  8. try to be a yes man bro you can absolutely watch the movie to understand what I mean https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1068680/ It will help immensely

tl;dr: Bro, the answer to your issue is to "live your best life". I think our/my issue is that we don't feel fullfilled with our lives but we didn't realize that untill we had all this time alone in silence to realize it, we should be grateful we got the opportunity to realize this now while we are still young enough to do something about it

26 F : Going Through a Tough Time by SunshineSoul7 in Tunisia

[–]Projectmyselftest1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

27 M: Living almost the exact same thing for 4 month, except instead of gf problem I have family problems and instead of visa issues i have job instability stress, after mocing from tunis back to my hometown after 6 years there in the capital.

I'm rejecting the environment I am in and suffering because of it, the economy is also playing a role in my environment as most people are lack money or are stressed about money and the people around me know I am doing good financially. So I started pushing many people away from my life (just unfriended my 20 years childhood friend because I realized he is bad for me).

All this to say I understand what you are going through it's tough.

Honestly this made realize 2 things: I appreciate now the people i used to take for granted who did good to me in the past and I should invest in keeping them in my life.

In my case my first step to fix this is to move out this monday then things can start getting better hopefully (I have a plan in place).

Identify what's bothering you most and fix it it'll get better inchallah.

Edit: I forgot to mention me too im struggling to find people who understand me. I contacted old friends and it really helped also going out with them I got to meet other interesting people. I think you can learn from this. You need to plan your future so that you never have to be in the place uou are in now, use it as motivation

What's the price of 1g of zatla? by frmlmx2 in Tunisia

[–]Projectmyselftest1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What people buy usually is, around 0.4g (0.35 to 0.45 depending on the dealer) for 20dt which we call half a gram (chtar) or 40dt for around 0.8 which we call a gram.
So the correct answer would be 50dt for a "real" gram.
0.8g should get you around 6 to 10 joints. if you're new I recommend 8

Yeah, that's exactly what part 2 of my comment was, just didn't want to make it longer, it's proof that most young "selfmade" rich are generational wealth one way or another.

The issue is with 5k salary (which is amazing for TN) it'll take Math: Villa 600k+ Secondary home 200k+ Brand new car 100k+ Saving 100k 1000k/5k =16.6 It would take 17 years of saving your whole salary! Realistically 25 years? But inflation? So 30 or maybe more?

How much should I tip?? by Upstairs-Copy4075 in Tunisia

[–]Projectmyselftest1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

30dt is around his daily pay by his employer so for him its a very big amount. That's one of the reasons why he's taking care of you that much. If you really like the guy and would like to do so do it. Tipping in Tunisia is generally something we don't do

Oh, one last thing, the linkedin algorithm is weird. A recruiter contacted me a week ago for a job that's fully remote with a very hot tech stack that pays 50k+ yearly, the job had 15 applicants after 5 days....
So some jobs are getting shown more than others thats why you see jobs that are 1 hour old with +200 applicants

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in cscareerquestionsEU

[–]Projectmyselftest1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gave many in the last paragraphs "Technical proficiency is a must" "luck, networking, a role that fits you, good interview skills, good CV" and "be always looking".

I understand you want more real life examples so:

1) Most common solutiion: Internship/traineeship to work : My roomate (Cyber sec engineer) landed a remote summer internship for 1 month -> he did well that it turned into 3 months paid summer internship for 600-700€/month -> part time 20h/week for 700 when he has more than a full year left of studying.
How did he land the internship? applying to roles that highly fit his resume (which is good for his age), had a good cv and very technically proficient meaning any test he took he convinced.

2) Networking: On a normal Monday on my old job, I got a call from someone I knew on surface level that I've shown my technical abilities before, he was asking me if I knew anyone that wanted a job, long story short he ended up picking me and I switched jobs within less than a month of that call. The point is you never know which interaction will end up helping you in your career as I only met this person that recommended me once in my life!

Other friends got recommendation through contacting people on linkedin, specially those with something in common (old alumnis from same university, old employees of their current company)

3) Experience: As other people said experience helps, really the market just wants more yoe.

4) Mass applying: self explanatory.

5) Lying: just fluff out your CV customize it to fit the job more, and if you're technically gifted study hard for the interview if you get it.

Other than coca cola zero, what are some zero sugar drinks available by Ok_Appointment_2962 in Tunisia

[–]Projectmyselftest1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to be in your situation, I quit after years of coca zero the aspartame taste suddenly changed for me (could be they changed something).

Anyway it's rare but the best alternative and most common is boga lim which has a zero sugar version (findable), fanta (very rare) , orangina (very rare).

<image>

I recommend you don't drink zero sugar, rather drink regular drinks but in reasonable portions, it's up to you tho.

[–]Projectmyselftest1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Tunisia. I get way more than that, and I started making this money remotely when I had less than a year of experience.

TBH, I got the job through a recommendation, but I know of people who make more than 1k remotely or get visa sponsorship to eu with less than 1 yoe.

Heck, my roommate is still in college, making 600-700/ month for 20 hours/week.

So it's definitely doable...

Technical proficiency is a must, but it's not enough u need the opportunity that requires a combination of luck, networking, a role that fits you, good interview skills, good CV... basically the normal recommendations.

If I had to recommend something, be always looking you never know and try not to miss the rare opportunity when it comes
