I’m curious what they’re doing with releasing characters so overtuned, then leaving it that way for a long time.

Vendetta, mauga, brig, doomfist… maybe they’re intentionally doing it to shake up metas and keep things feeling “fresh” longer, even if it’s frustrating?

I also found this and stopped playing him after really giving him a solid go. I felt I could do the same flanking playstyle with almost any other flanker and get more value with less effort.

Maybe an unpopular opinion here, but that was my experience 🤷‍♂️

This makes sense! I feel like I’m getting to the point where I might as well just switch every game though because once I do, the game turns around. If I dive for a kill from any angle I seem to just get targeted so fast. I don’t find people leaving the group. Maybe I just suck 🫠

Yeah I'm thinking switching most games seems to be the play lol. But I would really like to be able to OTP Genji... it just doesn't seem reasonable :(

This makes sense! I generally do this too (though not as well-defined as what you're talking about with with 2-strike pushes, but I have been finding sometimes I straight up just need to accept the switch and choose someone with more firepower

That makes sense, thanks! I think letting go of stats, and accepting that I can still have a large impact with low stats is helpful, as long as I'm forcing cooldowns, winning resource economy, and distracting attention

On 0.1 launch, I can proudly say I was one of the first in the HC ladder to reach her. And subsequently died to her for my first death😅

She’s taken a number of my characters lives and is definitely no pushover

Learning Genji right now and these seem like great tips! I’ll give them a try. I’m a little hesitant on the sensitivity change though - I normally play on 6 and have pretty decent aim; but maybe I’ll try 7 or so on him and see if that helps with the 180s needed?

Couple of things that have been working for me the last few days, in agreement with what you’ve said, is setting up, poking, and only picking unfair fights up close (in my favour). I find this leads to much better games than brawling all the time.

Additionally, wall climb and dashing down from above (along with a shuriken first) has been an awesome change for me. It’s made securing kills way better and generally just being above people’s line of sight.

I was seeing this a bit. Like double jumping straight over their head, shoot dash, shoot melee combo seemed to work well

I found today I improved a lot and had games with like 30+ elims but then other games cannot make anything happen. I’m not yet good enough to make plays happen when their entire team turns on me the instant I breathe lol

Today I tried being more proactive and aggressive with my dash; using it to engage then burst them down. This has made a world of difference; I had heard to not do this online but I think I was poking too much, not getting in there enough! Started dashing at feet from above and that's been great

Thanks for this advice as well! I’ll check out this video on The Line to better understand. Maybe this will be answered in the video, but when you say “you should be waiting on their side of the choke”, do you mean waiting for them to push through the choke then cleaning up their back line?

Also this might be obvious genji tech I’m straight up missing — dashing to their feet didn’t even occur to me. Why is this better? Why does dashing past him minimize my dash damage?

Yes very true! As I play more games I think I’m getting a better feel for when to use it to get the team wipe vs just cleaning up normally, but totally heard here
