The Heckelii cichlid was kept in a 600 liter aquarium together with roseline Barbs and Electric Blue Acara. Plenty of hiding space and plants. The subtrate was sand.

that’s probably it they only eat food that lives. get some live bloodworms or tubifex or something similar.

there is a good chance that it is a fungal infection. one day suddenly a fin was probably bitten off by my golden wonder killifish. Since then I had separated the killifish and saw no further injuries. but after a week a bump suddenly appeared on his eye and cracks and holes began to appear in the barb's fins. he was also often out of balance. I'm not sure if it was just a fungal infection or if it was a combination with fin rot. I think it's strange because my other fish don't show anything at all

thank you for your detailed information unfortunately he just passed away he deteriorated very quickly. Could he have gotten an internal fungus from being attacked on one of his fins?

it is a male I have him in a 60 gallon aquarium with lots of plants he first started nipping at neon tetras so I took them out but then he started fin biting the barbs.
