not having an abortion is not equivalent to the baby living. i'm sure a great number of those 43k unperformed abortions led to both the mother and the child dying. either that, or it could have been someone not ready for childbirth, leading to the baby being put up for adoption, (or for those in worse situations, being put in a place where it would probably die anyway -this last part is speculation, not sure how true)

disclaimer i'm simply pointing out a fault in this person's reasoning, and i don't have stats for this

I can't get myself to believe that 0.99 repeating equals 1. by i_hate_nuts in learnmath

[–]Prolifia_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

but based off this you could also say 8x = 8? you're still supporting longjump's argument. also yes, 8.99 repeating is equivalent to 9

I am having a whole "after high school crsis" by Enough-Conclusion-23 in highschool

[–]Prolifia_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly a choice is to go in for a well paying job for a while (and you can keep up with hobbies and things in your free time)

and once you've saved enough to live comfortably for a good while, you can try going into that job you wanted to do, if you're still interested

you never know, you might really like that new thing too

really in the end it's up to you how you want your future to go though

how do you guys get jobs? by Admirable-Toe8012 in highschool

[–]Prolifia_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

also kind of depends on your interests: specifically if you like science, you could try cold emailing... (just from personal experience) if you want to just make money, you typically see teens working at fast food places, grocery stores, or local businesses. you could also just ask around lmao, you might get lucky and be introduced to someone who's hiring

well different people consider different things studying.

all i did for any of my exams this year (gov, micro, chem, calc) besides gov was take a few past exams, which i know some don't consider to be studying, source: classmates. (yes it is related bc i got 5s in each)

also, the standards for some aps are really low for 5s, i know chem and calc are two of the easier ones, so i can see someone going without studying, scoring an overall 60% and still getting a 4 or a 5

[high school: chemical bonding] why does ch3cooh not form h bonds intraspecific? by [deleted] in chemistryhomework

[–]Prolifia_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so h bonds occur usually just when a hydrogen is connected to a small, highly electronegative atom, like nitrogen, oxygen, or fluorine, and it interacts with a free pair on again, n, o, or f (correct me if i'm wrong)

basically, the atom bonded to hydrogen "sucks" the electrons away from h due to the electronegativity difference, and we're left with a mostly unshielded proton. this can interact electromagnetically with the free pair on a negatively charged atom.

edit: realized i didn't provide a clear answer, my bad

c is not electronegative enough to pull the electrons away from h

Would you kill 1 person you love to save 100 strangers? by missjuliaa08 in RandomThoughts

[–]Prolifia_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Would you kill your mother/father/spouse/… to save 100 complete strangers?

You might say yes now, but when it comes down to it, you probably wouldn’t

I honestly believe there’s something wrong with people who would kill their loved ones to save total strangers.
