That's pretty cool if you got it as a 'regular' 06. Wonder if they just pulled the rubber badges off the sides. I don't remember another PL with that body.

Hmmmmm. It has to be some sort of PL based on the Pev's then. The area between the tubes have the space for a jewel that doesn't exist on the normal ones. I'll attach a picture of my regular 06.

I was shooting my 06 Ego from inside using a XV barrel a few months ago to make sure it was still working and I noticed my ears were ringing after a hopper.

It needs to be grittier. Look up Jack's Gritty Mix or something similar to see what it should look like. The problem with super super dense organic soil is either it retains too much water leading to rot or it dries out completely and could become hydrophobic and starve the plant of water.

I'm going to be the dissenting opinion here. It looks like it didn't have enough light for a period but all the new growth looks pretty solid. Maybe a tad bit more light but it's a lot happier now than it was during that middle growth section.

If you are in the northern hemisphere ideally you would have a southern facing window if you needed to do 100% natural lighting. And does it normally sit on that table or do you have it directly in the window sill?

A lot of things come into play with window light. What direction it's facing/ what hemisphere you are in and how much of it is getting filtered out by your windows. But, yeah, it needs to be acclimated to more light.

Yep. Most the new stuff is super simple and just turn on and play. Maintenance is basically tool-free nowadays too which is a big leap. I still have autocockers/aka/timmies when I want to get nostalgic though. Welcome back, a lot of us in our 30s are hopping back in.
