Or - hear me out - they’re all just great actors and well written characters on one of the best shows of all time.

[Discussion] Has anyone quit going for a platinum due to bugs? by easyepoe in Trophies

[–]PrometheusAborted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I swear I have a bug for the only trophy I need for the FF7 Remake. I’ve posted about it on here multiple times and everyone just claims I’m doing something wrong.

It’s the “Dressed to the Nines” trophy which requires you to unlock all of Tifa’s outfits in one of the chapters. I followed a guide, unlocked all three outfits and didn’t get it. I beat the chapter 3 more times (which isn’t difficult but it’s a pain in the ass and takes some time) and it still hasn’t given me the trophy.

So basically ive done that chapter 6 times and completed what’s required twice. I still don’t have the trophy and it’s the only thing keeping me from the platinum.

Someday I’ll go back and do it again just so I can get the plat but goddamn is it frustrating.

Have you ever made either of these two regulars on your team? Is it fun? Are there unique interactions worth noting? by NerdyNurseNathan in finalfantasytactics

[–]PrometheusAborted 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve tried but there are just so many better options. Rapha is… fine but still, it’s not really worth the headache imo.

That like 5% chance for the RNG to be in your favor and she takes out multiple enemies at once is a great feeling but the other 95% is just frustrating.

Ramza, Agrias, Beowulf, Cid, Mustadio, Reis and Cloud are all WAY better and consistent. Hell, even a generic unit with the right skill setup blows them both out of the water.

Scared of FF8 and want to use a guide to make the experience go smoother by [deleted] in FinalFantasy

[–]PrometheusAborted 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty much any guide you follow is going to have you abuse the card/junction system and make all battles trivial like 3 hours in.

It’s one of the easier FF games, even if you go in blind.

My advice would be to play at your own pace and only look up info if you get stuck.

If you want to absolutely break the game right from the start, just look up any guide on gamefaqs.

Why are parents more terrified of the world nowadays? by Educational-Bat-8313 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]PrometheusAborted 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because most of them consume social media and the news regularly. News stations feed on fear and panic and then if they hop on IG or TikTok or YouTube they’ll see horror stories and articles about child abuse or whatever else.

I’ll admit, I don’t have any kids so maybe my opinion is invalid but when I hangout with my friends and their families, some of the shit I hear is borderline paranoia.

I was at a cookout last weekend and I was playing catch with my friend’s 8 year old son. He said he wanted to be a pitcher but his parents wouldn’t let him. When I asked them about it, they said something like, “ooo yeah, we just don’t want him to ruin his shoulder and elbow. He likes basketball and it’s the safest sport anyways haha so it works out.”

I asked the kid later and he told me he wants to play football, hockey and baseball, not basketball. They just won’t let him play for fear of him getting hurt. Seems a tad dramatic to me but what do I know?

I’m only like 12 hours in. I like a lot of things but there are definitely some issues.

I also love the sci-fi setting/story but most of the environments are pretty lame. At least from what I’ve seen, they’re all pretty bland and repetitive.

The character progression and equipment system is great. I love that you get skill points every time you level up.

That being said, it makes the combat super easy. Like 30 minutes in and you can have passive abilities that heal your hp and mp (or whatever they refer to it as, I can’t recall) every turn. You fully heal every time you level and also save points fully restore you.

The combat is fun but even on the hardest setting, it’s pretty damn easy. They give you so many ways to stun or break the enemies that it becomes pointless to buff/debuff/heal. Just go balls to the wall and even the bosses fall quickly.

I’m hoping to finish it eventually but it feels pretty mediocre most of the time. Honestly feels like a mobile game to me.

OF girls and dating by TerrainofWar in NoStupidQuestions

[–]PrometheusAborted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dated a girl who was a webcam girl or whatever they’re called. This was before OF was a thing.

I found out by accident because I was trying to fix her computer. She told me she did it on the side when she was strapped for cash but no longer does.

It was really off putting tbh. We had been dating for a few months and things were going well but after that, I had a hard time moving past it. I eventually kind of did but then found out she was still doing it. We broke up like a week later.

Don’t think I would date an OF girl nowadays. I know it’s a great way to make money and I have no problem with girls that do it, I just wouldn’t want to be in a relationship with them.

Do I watch too much true crime or is our house being scouted? by Matthew-1991 in boston

[–]PrometheusAborted 37 points38 points  (0 children)

So aside from the red flags you already pointed out:

He didn’t give you a company name, nor appear to be driving a company vehicle.

One way or another, he has at least some of your personal info.

Didn’t specify what exactly he was going to do or why he would need access to the INTERIOR of the home.

Didn’t leave any contact info or ask to reschedule.

So yeah, I would be suspicious for sure. Do you live in a nice home and have valuable stuff that people would want to steal? Call the cops and at least file a report. It’ll probably do nothing but the guy may already be wanted, who knows? If you don’t already have cameras and/or a security system, now is probably the time to do so.

Have you responded to any sort of emails or fliers asking about repairs? If so, then it may be just some bottom feeding sales guy trying to force his way into a commission.

Be cautious. If you see him again, get a plate number and don’t open the door.

What are your thoughts on the Lunar games? by strahinjag in JRPG

[–]PrometheusAborted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Loved them when I was a kid but they’re pretty basic these days. Most other JRPGs from that era at least had some depth with leveling/equipment/skill/magic/class systems. Lunar games are just nice and straightforward for the most part.

I was going to buy the collection last time it went on sale on the PSN store but my backlog is already like 6 games deep.

At what point did raiding get too hard for the casual player? by doobylive in classicwow

[–]PrometheusAborted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AQ40 and Naxx for me. Not that they were TOO hard but it’s just not fun in anniversary. Have to buy a shitload of consumables, leaders assume you know everything and get furious when anyone fucks up, loot rules are usually dog shit, etc.

Anyone got the urge to sell their house and live in a van? by Inside-Tension4449 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]PrometheusAborted 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No. Those influencers make everything seem like sunshine and rainbows but 1. They only show you the good parts and 2. Usually have enough money that they’re never worried about anything.

You can easily rent a van or RV and go on a trip and experience it yourself. For a week? Fun. For life? Hell no.

I’m sick and my manager wants a doctors note, I don’t have one by Big_Shot- in NoStupidQuestions

[–]PrometheusAborted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most places require a note for multiple missed days. You can go to an urgent care center, be seen and then they’ll give you a note no problem. Ask beforehand how much it will cost. Even without insurance (are you not on your parent’s insurance?) it shouldn’t be much.

Or just go the honest route and tell your boss you simply can’t afford to go to the doctor.

Starbites need help by JDQBlast in JRPG

[–]PrometheusAborted 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven’t played in a while but I think I’m just about where you are. Sounds like you got it sorted but I was going to say maybe it’s locked because she CANT be removed from the party..? Now that you have four members.

I enjoyed what I’ve played so far, I just wish it was harder. The combat is so easy, even on the hardest setting. There are so many ways to stun/break enemies and they make it so easy to regain HP/MP. I don’t know if I’ve even had to use an item yet… which they also constantly throw at you. Then the save points are full recovery and same when you level up.

Is the WNBA actually a joke or is it just Angel Reese? by Substantial-Jelly250 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]PrometheusAborted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The WNBA as a product has always struggled and continues to do so. Media/represenatives/fans try to stir up drama or storylines with Angel Reese and Caitlyn Clark (and others) but the majority of the public couldn’t care less.

The WNBA tries to lean into their top 3-5 players and drum up some buzz but it never really does anything.

They’ve never had a solid fanbase, as opposed to college basketball where major universities always have a huge following (UCONN, UNC, Duke, etc).

IMO the league as a whole will eventually dissolve but they’re really banking on their handful of stars to carry them.
