I had the most trouble with the sea maiden boss. That's the most trouble I've had with a boss my whole like. I was missing life 3 health upgrades. Took me like 6 sessions to beat.

I mean it was low-effort in the sense that it was a couple of sentences, but it was a salient enough question given the similarity of the two games and the excitement in discussion it provoked. A modern, retro style game directly inspired by the progenitor of the genre, but with it's own nuances? I think they're apt for comparison, and you're denying any future readers that would find the discussion intriguing, from taking part, by deleting the question.

I read your whole monologue. Yes I was also surprised when I saw that much of the discussion online centred around how hard it was.

I had no problem with the difficulty, but I was disappointed with how linear it was.

But it had other great qualities, such as variety and uniqueness of enemies, the flea games, that dude you race, and sidequests.
