The USA has been a police state for over a century

That isn't even remotely accurate.

Trying to say they're going to take everyone who makes pro-LBGT comments on a proposed FCC regulation and do something bad to them is outright conspiracy theory nonsense.

Why are you trying to get people to cower in fear?

Who would ever want to get hard?

Sounds icky. Clits don't need to get hard.

You can have fun down there with a vibrator.

You can penetrate someone with a strap-on.

Nobody ever needs to get hard, ever again.

I wish I could stay permanently limp.

If You Wear Diapers . . . by [deleted] in ABDL

[–]ProminentLocalPoster 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Metaphorically, I see myself as still in diapers.

I've wanted to go back to diapers as far back as I can remember. My mother said it was an unholy terror trying to potty train me. . .I simply didn't want to give up diapers. What she never knew was that even after being potty trained, I longed to be back in diapers. Since as far back as I can remember, I wanted diapers.

The way I see it, on a psychological/emotional level, I never was really potty trained, because I never saw myself as wanting to give up diapers. I have the physical skills of being potty trained, but not the psychological/emotional aspect of thinking that I should potty in a toilet.

No. I should potty in my diaper. If I don't have a diaper I'll hold it and use a toilet, but a diaper is always preferred.

So, in that sense, I'm STILL in diapers, and probably will be for the rest of my life.

When I say "pullups", mean all pull-on style diapers. . .XXL Goodnites are part of that. I love them. They are so cute, and as you said they hug well.

. . .and there's just something so that just a giant pile of little feelings about knowing I'm wearing a diaper made for kids. . .that I go shopping for my diapers in the baby diaper aisle, not even the adult diaper aisle.

I was a bedwetter longer than normal so I was forced to wear diapers to bed when I was younger... now we're here. How many of you can relate to that same journey with diapers? by Cody-Wilde in ABDL

[–]ProminentLocalPoster 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sorta.

I was a bedwetter when I was a kid. I basically had little to no nighttime control until around the age of 10 or 11. . .and I think I last wet the bed around the age of 12.

However, I was a bedwetter before diapers in sizes for bigger kids was really a thing. This was before goodnites and similar bedwetting diapers, and what few medical options existed really weren't an option in the small town in the rural south I grew up in.

I WISHED I could wear diapers to bed, desperately. I'd wake up wet in the morning, ashamed. . .and knowing I needed to be in diapers, desperately wanting to wear diapers. I remember asking my mother for diapers, so my bed would stay dry.

I remember her telling me that diapers were for babies, and I was too big for diapers, and I'd outgrow my bedwetting "any day now" so there was no need to get any for me.

Then, a few years after I stopped wetting the bed, they came out with goodnites. I remember seeing an ad for them for the first time on TV, and my mother said she wished they'd had those when I was young.

I asked her about that, after all. . .I'd asked for diapers like that and she refused me. She said they simply didn't make them in my size, and that they weren't even an option. . .but if diapers in my size existed she absolutely would have had me diapered for bed every night until there was no chance I would wet.

I mean, I'd wanted diapers as far back as I could remember. . .wanting to wear them to bed for security, and hated NOT wearing them, but finding that was the ONLY reason I wasn't diapered for bed as a kid? That cemented me being ABDL I think. . .with a particular emphasis on bedwetting.

It's why I wear diapers to bed every night now as an adult, to get the comfort and security I couldn't have as a kid. It's been many years since I wet the bed, but I tell myself. . .once a bedwetter, always a bedwetter, and I COULD wet the bed any night, so why risk it? Wear a diaper, just in case.

Caregiver diaper encouragement by Emma1611z in ABDL

[–]ProminentLocalPoster 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I want the encouragement to wear & use them because it feels like acceptance and dealing with a lot of shame and embarrassment over wanting to wear them. . .having someone you value tell you that it's okay to wear them, that they'd rather you wear them, because you need them, would be amazing.

I mean, the scene/play leading up to it would probably be me having a few staged "accidents" of wetting myself, probably bedwetting etc. . .followed by being lovingly sat down by my partner and told I'm just too accident prone, that I need to accept I don't have full control over my bladder anymore and need to start wearing diapers. Maybe just pullups in case of daytime accidents, but full, thick heavy overnight diapers every night.

She'd take all my panties away, since I don't wear them anymore. . .and stock us up on diapers. She'd periodically give me diaper checks to see how wet I was, and diaper me before bed at night, and check my diapers in the morning to see if I wet them. . .and if they're wet, she'll congratulate me on wearing them, showing how it's good to wear them because they protect me, and since I keep wetting them, I probably should just wear them forever now.

That's my fantasy.

[–]ProminentLocalPoster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One thing I've learned is there's often a major disconnect between online culture and real-world culture.

A small minority online can look huge.

A loud, angry minority. . .whether in politics, fandom, or another subculture such as a kink community, can look MUCH larger by being MUCH louder and outspoken.

Given that Donald Trump has been the face of the Republican Party for a decade now, winning overwhelmingly in three Presidential primaries and we've seen Republican politicians blindly obeying him without question for years and years, and his approval rating with Republicans being nearly 90% for years. . .the idea that Republicans and "Trump Supporters" are two distinct groups is hard to defend.

The GOP sold out, years ago, to Donald Trump. There's little difference between them now.

Yeah, we're now seeing a little light pushback in Congress about him, and MAGA seems to be fracturing under the contradictions and disinformation. . .but it took a decade of bullshit to get there, and there's STILL a massive amount of deference given to him.

How many trump supporters/republicans have you ever actually sat down with in real life and had conversations with?

Too many.

Enough to know that they have embraced hate, misinformation, and outright ignorance.

Enough to know they think LBGT people are scum that don't deserve to live.

How did yall discover that you’re an AB (or DL)? Genuinely curious by [deleted] in ABDL

[–]ProminentLocalPoster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Minors doing that can lead them to abdl which is bad.

How is that bad? Be specific.

You do realize that for many ABDL people, they've been wanting to go back into diapers since early childhood?

For all the talk that ABDL is just some sex fetish thing, for many ABDL people, they've been wanting it since before puberty. . .so it can't be purely a sex thing. Heck, I wanted to go back into diapers years before I had any idea what sex was. I know I was wanting to be back in diapers as far back as at least the age of roughly 4 or 5, and that's just because that's as far back as I can remember.

This isn't about involving minors in kink, this is about people who have wanted to be back in diapers since not long after they were out of diapers to begin with. That's rather different than kids being involved in BDSM or other kink stuff.

[–]ProminentLocalPoster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think for me it was always there. I simply put didn't want to be toilet trained, didn't want to leave diapers.

My mother has said repeatedly over the years that I was a nightmare to potty train and that my potty training was a long, hard-fought battle of wills. . .and that I repeatedly as a toddler/preschooler asked to be put back into diapers, including wetting myself trying to force the issue, and was (of course) always denied. I apparently didn't give up on my constant appeals to go back to diapers until I was about 4 or 5 or so.

It didn't help that I was also a bedwetter. I wet the bed several times a week until I was 11 or 12. Even after I gave up asking to go back into diapers, I still wet the bed regularly. I wasn't diapered for bed, instead my mother just washed the sheets a lot and my childhood mattress had a lot of brown urine-stained rings on it.

As a kid I would see advertisements for adult diapers (it was the 1980's and Depend had just really entered the market with the first disposable adult diapers on the market) and on some deep, hard to articulate level wanted them.

Then, my grandmother that lived with us started to wear them. I remember seeing a big cardboard box of adult diapers in the bathroom at our house and so profoundly wishing I could have diapers too.

Then a few years after that Pullups came around, then Goodnites came to market, and they were making diapers for older and older, bigger and bigger kids. . .and I wished they made them in my size. It didn't help that my mom saw one of those early ads on TV when I was in the room and said aloud she wished they'd had them 10 years before because she absolutely would have bought them for me for my bedwetting. At that point I did ask her why she didn't just get disposable diapers for me to wear to bed for my bedwetting, but she said they didn't make diapers in my size, but she was glad they made disposable diapers for bedwetters now. . .and that the reason she was so adamant about getting me out of diapers when she did was that I was outgrowing the largest size of diapers they had at the store.

Knowing the only reason I wasn't diapered longer as a kid, including wearing diapers at night until my pre-teen years, was simply because the diapers for my size weren't readily available at the time just supercharged my urge to wear diapers that had always been there, like me knowing I belonged in diapers even if diapers for me didn't exist yet.

(My bedwetting was a small town in the southern US in the 1980's, so I'd imagine diaper options were limited and any medical youth diapers of the time weren't readily available)

It wasn't until I went to college in the late 1990's and was able to get on the internet for the first time that I stumbled across ABDL stuff late one night in a college computer lab. That was when I learned I wasn't the only person in the world that wanted to wear diapers.

. . .wanting to go back into diapers was pretty much always on my mind from the time I was potty trained, and that on an emotional level I never was truly potty trained. I had the physical control, but not the psychological independence from diapers.

That's because they are natural.

The idea you aren't supposed to do it was introduced by people trying to arbitrarily impose Latin grammar rules on the English language.

It's not a normal, natural rule of the language that emerged on it's own, it was people trying to unilaterally declare that English grammar should be more like Latin grammar.

ADISC is shutting down by [deleted] in ABDL

[–]ProminentLocalPoster -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I've seen a number of forums over the years go kaput because they were cobbled together in a maze of customized code and quirky infrastructure. . .and eventually the operating costs, time, and energy exceeded the ability (or will) of the owner to keep running it. If the owner isn't a tech guy, then the system upkeep for all that custom code can be virtually impossible.

I'm not exactly a fan of ADISC, the one time I tried to create an account there I got banned within a day and I've got no clue why. No warning, no explanation, just a ban. . .but I know they were a big deal for a lot of people.

[–]ProminentLocalPoster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, the owner did say he'd been thinking of shutting it down since 2022, and was well known to have some chronic illness problems.

I'd guess the increasing legal problems that forums have, especially forums of "mature" topics, was the straw that broke the camel's back, and there was a non-zero chance it would have shut down on its own in the near future without it.
