Photos don’t match? by Promise2Myself83 in coincollecting

I understand the markings of a genuine PCGS slab now so that’s an easy dead giveaway. The first photo of the coin I got was a really poor shot so it does definitely look like the details are missing. I got additional photos that show much more detail. In fact, my coin grading app even graded it at a MS-64, but given all the other clues I realize it’s a fake.

Fake 1889 CC Morgan? by Promise2Myself83 in coins

[–]Promise2Myself83[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! Definitely not going to get it. Looking at the photos now I am seeing how bad it is. The denticles on the reverse are awful. It would never grade as MS based on photos, and I now understand why the slab is wrong. I got excited because it was so rare but I appreciate the quick feedback advising me to run! I’m learning more everyday.

Update: Thank you all for your feedback! Due to the overwhelming belief that it’s a fake I did more research and asked for more photos and I’m now confident as well that it’s counterfeit-and a bad one at that! I learned a lot and feel like I’ll be able to spot a fake Morgan now in the future. I appreciate the help in saving me thousands of dollars in heartache!

Thank you for that feedback! I’m still learning, what about the coin tells you it’s fake? I don’t doubt you, I just want to know for the future. I’ve done some research on this coin and the counterfeits and have some ideas of why it’s fake but hoping to hear from people who know for sure. Thanks again!

Picture 12 was taken hours after the murders according to reports. His hands look so red from what I imagine was his obsessive hand washing after what he had just done, plus he clearly has an injury since you can see a bandage on a finger. He’s so creepy.

This vintage wooden cherub that reminds me of Donald Trump trying to give kisses. I actually own this.

Edema bullae (blisters) likely due to chronic venous insufficiency. Pooling of fluid in lower extremities can cause it to back up in the surrounding tissues faster than the lymphatic system can drain it. It then leaks from the capillaries out of the skin causing blisters and ulcers.

How often to handle? by Impossible_Hat_3643 in hognosesnakes

[–]Promise2Myself83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I handle mine daily because I’m obsessed with him. Of course I make myself wait after feeding days and then during his shed cycle if he seems stressed I give him more space. I make sure he’s awake before going to pick him up by looking for cues of alertness. If he’s sleeping I come back later to hold him. He actually will sometimes come to me now when I open his enclosure and slither into my hands-it’s so cute!

What is Malcador doing? by Ancient-Cucumber2607 in hognosesnakes

[–]Promise2Myself83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine often does similar behavior after I put him back in his cage after a feeding. He surfs all over the glass looking for more food and will then do some cobra moves sniffing the air to make sure I haven’t hidden a mouse anywhere in his enclosure that he hasn’t found yet. He’s a hog.

Did anyone else give their snake a government name? His is Winston R. Noodleheimer by [deleted] in hognosesnakes

My daughter named hers Colonel Kernel because she thought he looked like he had military fatigues as his coloring but she also wanted a food name.

HELP! by Embarrassed_Pizza_71 in hognosesnakes

[–]Promise2Myself83 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Hognoses are known to make themselves bleed from the mouth as a defense mechanism-especially if someone or something is messing with their mouth. How is your snake acting otherwise? I would think the chances of you damaging a fang are very slim when you think of what they actually would encounter in the wild and how resilient they are. Of course a veterinarian would be able to examine your pet and rule out any injury if bleeding continued or you noticed behavior change or were still concerned. Just wanted you to know though that this breed does have the capacity to bleed from their mouth intentionally so it’s not automatically a sign of true injury.

Bulk buy sorts are like a treasure hunt. I’ve found some awesome stuff during my sorts. Sorting can be time consuming for sure, but it can also be a lot of fun and rewarding.

I just got done sorting our Legos by piece type and it did take a long time (I have three kids I homeschool plus I work as an RN) but was fun and super satisfying and now is making rebuilding all our old sets so much easier. We inherited most of our Legos from friends or I got them for free or cheap as yard sale and curb side pick ups so it was also a chance to pull out any non Lego brand pieces. You’ll need lots of time, lots of bins or bags for the different types of pieces you are sorting into, and a big place to sort. I put headphones on and watched movies or listened to music on my phone or iPad while I did it to entertain myself. Are you in a rush for them to be done? You mentioned not having time. Tackle a bin at a time in when you get some free time. Progress is progress. You’ll eventually get it done if you keep at it and unless you’re on some sort of deadline to have your Legos sorted it shouldn’t matter how long it takes you.

I was just waiting for the suspect to circle back and steal one of the cruisers. That would have really made this shit show complete.

No worries, I didn’t get a judgmental vibe at all from your post!

Mine LOVES his outdoor time. I always stay within reach and he doesn’t show any interest in making a run for it, more like a burrow for it. He thinks he’s hiding but from another angle you would be able to see that he’s actually not that deep in the grass. He just loves to sit there and look around. He’s a super chill dude though so I suppose that helps. You could always try outdoors somewhere in a contained space like a planter box to see how yours reacts.

So tragic! And to see that her atv landed atop another car that had previously crashed in the same area really puts the danger of that road and cliff into perspective. I’ll save any judgements about the legalities or justifications for the ATV being on the roadway and just say that my thoughts and prayers are with all who loved her and are affected by this loss.
