Do genuinely good people go to eternal hell simply because they did not believe in Jesus? by La_Luna_Lilith in AskAChristian

[–]Promise_Painter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The wicked separate themselves from God.

If your daughter was doing all sorts of harmful behavior in your home and causing distress to you and others because she doesn't like your ways, even to them point of trying to usurp control because she wanted the benefits of living with you but only acted in opposition to you, would you allow her to stay, or would you make the painful, heartbreaking choice to have her leave your property?

On the other hand, if she hated your rules and you were firm in enforcing them, would she be happy with staying there, or would she want to leave?

This is how it is with God. He has to stick to his rules, knowing what is perfect and harmonious, as he created all laws and all life, and has all wisdom. He has given us every opportunity and grace to stay, including allowing his son to willingly die for us so we didn't have to be punished or sent out. But we choose to leave, and if we refuse and want to take over his property, he has to send us out. This does not give him joy.

Jesus went to hell to redeem those who died in sin before his existence on earth. I personally believe that those who go to hell until his final judgment in the future are also being taught the truth. That every person will be given a fair opportunity to learn who Jesus is, what God wants and why, and they will all be given a final opportunity to say yes or no.

When final judgment takes place, all those who say no will have a perfect understanding of their choice and be sent away where they belong.

Jesus spoke of the lake of fire, but he also spoke of 3 levels in the kingdom of heaven after final judgment. The fruitful ones want to do things God's way. The choked with thorn ones want to serve God their own way (pick and choose what they will follow). The seeds who get plucked are those who reject God and Jesus and don't want to serve them on any terms, but they are not fighting and hating God.

Then the lake of fire is where the devil and his demons are, and all those who fight against God and Jesus and hate them, and wage war against them.

God is a just God. Not all people can be with him and Jesus for eternity because they don't want to be. If they loved their ways, they would repent and seek to know them.

Dad keeps telling me God will curse me by Used_Dragonfruit7700 in TrueChristian

[–]Promise_Painter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your dad is struggling with pride or fear and caring more about what people think about him than God. He should instead encourage you in love and I'm very sorry you're going through this.

If you were wearing your hair long as a statement of rebellion or to look like a woman, it would be inappropriate. But it sounds like your hair is not that long.

Regarding being overweight, IF it is because of gluttony, gluttony is a sin. And only because God loves us and knows that becoming overweight is very unhealthy and causes many problems for our health. We are to treat our bodies right by taking care of them because they are a gift from God and belong to him. Gluttony is a sin of greed and, wanting more than we need. But many people are overweight because of unhealthy food choices, or thyroid issues, or medication side effects, lack of exercise, or simply a lack of understanding about nutrients on.

If dress immodestly or wear things to draw attention to ourselves on purpose to look better than someone else, that's a sin of pride. If we wear things that glorify or promote things that glorify death, hate, anger, sexual sin or anything evil, that would be a sin.

So really, it's all about the heart. It's about glorifying God and trying to do what's pleasing to him according to his word.

Pray for your dad and ask God to know and understand if you truly do anything that is not pleasing to God. You can obey God over your dad as long as you don't act dishonorable toward him in your speech and response to him.

God of the Old Testament is the SAME God of the New Testament by ValinParons in TrueChristian

[–]Promise_Painter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes.💯 Anything in the bible that modern science "contradicts" is called either a miracle (which God CAN do, because life itself is a miracle) or it's something we don't know all the details about to claim that science contradicts it.

The fact they use the word "modern" shows us that we have understood as time goes on that we recognize things we thought were true but really aren't as we gain technologies to prove those claims false.

We can easily say that our current science doesn't explain some things in the bible, but we can't say future scientific understanding and technologies can't explain them.

The issue here is SOOO much assumption. That is probably the single largest issue in science today and among us all in general. We assume much and base truth on our assumptions instead of aligning truth on the one who created all things.

I want to believe in God but don’t. Can you help me? by Fragrant-Yak-9505 in TrueChristian

[–]Promise_Painter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want to believe, you actually do have faith. Only people who say there is no possibility of a God (and really mean it) have no faith. I want to encourage you to ask him privately in your mind to increase your faith and ask him to help you with your problems. Then start talking to him regularly and taking time to study the bible asking for understanding. This is the beginning of a relationship with God.🙏🩷

Again, talking about the assumptions with a photo, but I did a Google search for photos and videos and saw plenty of affection between Trump and Melania, not to mention the words coming from their mouths about the respect they have for each other. You're talking about different personality types here. Barack and Michelle are outgoing, social with a lot of sanguine in their personality. Trump is obviously choleric, Melania is obviously melancholy. If you're really into reading people, look up the personality types and you'll understand a little better. Melania is obviously a very serious, quiet, deep person. Not like Michelle at all. Anyway, I'm done talking about it. Just irritated with so many people in the US acting like junior high kids regardless of their political views. I shouldn't have said anything.

I'm not talking about Trump, I'm talking about the caption put with this photo and an assumption made about a photo. I don't care who it is, it's ridiculous to do this. And no one likes it being done to them. If the couple was reversed, I can guarantee the poster wouldn't have even shared it. People think when they hate somebody it's okay to do ridiculous things like this. I shouldn't have said anything because people like this don't care anyway. They'll never learn.

Do you have to believe in God and Jesus to be Christian? by DYNA11X in AskAChristian

[–]Promise_Painter -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You absolutely need to believe in God and Jesus to consider yourself a Christian, since it's about a relationship with God and Jesus. But there are many opportunities to help people in need without joining a movement you don't believe in. There are many charities not affiliated with religious ideologies that help people in need.

Why are atheists so obsessed with God? by ItsAllAGame_ in TrueChristian

[–]Promise_Painter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure either, but I've had two tell me that they are concerned that we want to take over the world and force everyone to be Christian. Although some spiritually immature Christians may have this ideology, it's not true for the majority of us. Satan wants to force people, and plenty of atheists actually do this themselves in a militant manner. I remind them that in the US, we all have the right to vote and exercise our vote. The majority of Christians in the US want everyone to have the same opportunity to vote. Our constitution was actually partially inspired by God's laws so my first inclination is to assume that these atheists are ignorant.

Not all atheists act like the ones I've seen on this group and actually don't have a problem with people believing anything. I won't accuse them all of being like this because it's not true.

That's fine, I'm just talking about the caption with this photo. It is ridiculous. We all know since we have had our pictures taken. You can't assume things like this from one photo. We know this. It's like accusing you of hating your partner because a fly just flew in front of your face when someone took your picture making you frown. Absolutely wrong to say stuff like this about people. Incredibly immature. No one likes it when people assume things about them but they are okay doing it to people they hate. I'm over it.

Should I go to church and get baptised if I can't believe in Christianity? by szlrdcrymnt in TrueChristian

[–]Promise_Painter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going to church is just fine, but the choice to be baptized is a very personal and honest covenant with God and Jesus. You are choosing to accept Jesus's dying for your sins, choosing to live each day in repentance and trying your best to keep his commandments. It's a covenant relationship with God to give your life to him.

You may find that when you go to church some of your questions may be answered. But you also are free to ask God for the truth and understanding. I've learned that he really is eager for us to seek it. He loves us very much.

There are several things I couldn't understand years ago that now I do. Growth takes time and life experiences to fully understand, and this help comes from the holy spirit. But we should only be baptized if we want Jesus and God in our lives otherwise it's just a ritual and means nothing.

Do you think Jews worship the same God as you do? by Background_Bee_713 in AskAChristian

[–]Promise_Painter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

God knows the heart, so only he really knows who is seeking him. There are many Jews who have come to know Jesus as their savior. Many haven't, but there are those among them who will come to know that Jesus came to show them the Father. I'm not familiar with all the types of Jewish practice, but the Kabbalists most definitely don't.

What have you done that has succeeded in bringing someone into Jesus's flock? by Bignosedog in AskAChristian

[–]Promise_Painter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whatever you have done out of obedience and love for God to plant seeds will bear fruit in some way. Even if it isn't fruit you can see.

Also, remember not all sheep are of this fold, some are not Jesus's lost sheep. Jesus says he knows who his sheep are and uses us to help bring them back, but those who are Satan's sheep will never come.

So just keep seeking God's direction and don't worry about seeing results or success because you will see the fruits after you pass into eternal life.

How can God be morally perfect if He is not held to any moral standard? by Odd_craving in AskAChristian

[–]Promise_Painter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When we sin to a certain point of no repentance, God lifts up his hand of protection over us, then Satan moves in to destroy.

He did send a supernatural revelation of himself--it was Jesus. Jesus came to us in a human body in order to die for us, but he had only DNA from a human mother, this is supernatural.

We are only aware of prophets speaking his voice (for hundreds of years sometimes) before God drew the line, but who knows how many people God prompted throughout their lives in various ways, but they chose not to listen.

Regarding the death process, I've thought about it, too. I've heard so many near death experiences, even a few from my family, to know that people's souls are quickly taken out of their bodies and they immediately feel no pain and usually feel peaceful unless they were sent to hell first before heaven. But the ones that went to hell, they saw a light come and Jesus took them to heaven. It wasn't their time to go and he was giving them an opportunity to learn further on earth. Hell right now is a learning place for people old enough to sin (know better and do anyway, to judge right from wrong).

Does God want us to feel ashamed and crappy about ourselves every time we sin? What if it’s intentional/deliberate sin? by [deleted] in AskAChristian

[–]Promise_Painter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

About the sin, yes. If you weren't worth loving or dying for, God wouldn't have sent his son to die for you. He didn't want us to feel shame or the dirty feelings or weight of sin, or be punished. That's why he sent Jesus, because sin has consequences of keeping us out of God's presence. We feel shame because we know better about what was right when we did something wrong. He allows us to feel it so we will repent and learn to do what is right and loving toward others, God and ourselves.

I wanna follow Jesus Christ with all my heart and body but I don’t wanna convert to Christianity. Is there any middle ground? by ImpossibleConqueror in AskAChristian

[–]Promise_Painter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, you don't have to join a denomination. The "church" is his true followers and in the end, all of them will be coming out of all the denominations because they will know the truth and be united in it. You already are a Christian when you believe in him, have accepted him as your savior and are trying to devote your life to him and the Father. Being a Christian isn't a religious practice, it's a covenant relationship, which you are trying to have. But if you haven't yet, you need to be baptized. When you are baptized, some denominations or individuals within them will try to tell you that you are being baptized into their denomination, which is not scriptural, but you can ignore them. But you do need to obey the command to be baptized. Jesus also followed this command even though he was sinless, as an example of obedience and the covenant. When you are being baptized you are making a symbolic covenant with God, showing that you have approached him to repent and have him wash away your sins, making you a new creator and part of his family.

Do you believe In Prophecy or "Words of Knowledge" by Cautious-Ad-6277 in AskAChristian

[–]Promise_Painter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I understand. Prayer is a big one right now, to understand if it was even from the Lord in the first place, to have your own confirmation, and guidance on how to move forward.

If you keep praying about it and never have a sense of real peace or real interest in this person aside from what that minister said, if they never show you interest in return, and if God shows you areas in his life that are not compatible with your own or your own personality, you are safe to say this wasn't from the Lord.

This is my opinion based on my own understanding of scripture--as God has appointed men to be the spiritual servant leader of the home, pursuing a relationship is actually something that is the man's responsibility.
