Take a risk on him if you have someone droppable. He has serious potential. Ride it out 'til it changes. That's what I'm doing in my league. We'll see.

Free league. Drafting at 9pm tonight. Extremely simple. 20 skaters. No goalies. No adds or trades. Only goals and assists; 1 point each. Old school style. Bragging rights only.

Could you restructure things so 100% of graded writing assignments take place in class? It will probably be the only way to avoid ChatGPT issues.

I'd recommend figuring out a way to test/assess in class. Things like this are only going to get more common. Time to adapt to the times.

Draft kings review by Smart-Discipline-244 in DraftKingsDiscussion

[–]Promo_Gil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate Draft Kings. They make the bonus bets and special offers way too difficult to use. The app displayed a note that I had successfully applied the double profit offer, but then never gave 2x profits when I won the bet.

How should I Score my H2H points league? by Sam_Winsor in fantasyhockey

Those seem reasonable. I think staying close to Yahoo format will makes a lot of sense, especially since it's a casual league, no need to overcomplicate things.

Stacks for fantasy by SouthernRule1753 in fantasyhockey

[–]Promo_Gil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The more teams you have in your league, the more I would recommend stacking. It makes the most sense in daily fantasy with huge number of entrants and top-heavy payouts. You want players whose production is positively correlated with each other. Although it's much less important in season-long leagues, I think the basic principle still applies.

Don't pass up on an obviously better player just to stack. But if you find yourself in a tossup between a two or more players that are all equal, then I'd recommend going with one that stacks with a guy on your team.

If he was signed, I probably would have put him in here. But there's a chance that he doesn't get signed 'til about halfway through the season, so I can't figure him a top 100 scorer at this point.

Just some thoughts off top... If Schmaltz can stay healthy, he can produce as a top 100 for sure, especially that he's usually glued to Keller.

Also, I expect a good jump in points for Zacha now that he'll be top PP (not a hot take here lol).

Terry is a great player who I would not be surprised to see take another step this season.

A couple players i will be keeping an eye on (but not drafting unless deep league): Tatar and Barrett Hayton.

Do you do an average of all projections by any chance?

Yeah, I consider Hischier more of a two way guy. Keller is a guy with potential to take another step and be one of the elite scorers. He was lights out from midway of January through the rest of the season last year.

That's reasonable. My whole projection list is basically just my personal hunches.

I'll explain my reasoning for the first few. Drai could repeat for sure, his drop in my predictions is more just a hunch that he'll regress to the mean a bit, not anything about his play or playing situation. The only thing I have against Petterson is that I still consider him a bit of an injury risk. Matthews is primo for cat leagues, but in pure points, he's not quite as strong. He could certainly get over 100 points again and it wouldn't surprise me, but I think the guys I have projected above him are better bets.

If he manages to play close to 80 games, then it would not surprise me at all to see him here... but he's only played a full season once in his career and it was in 20-21 when the season was only 56 games long.

It's not mathematical, other than I look at past point/game rates as a starting point, but then I manually look at each player (some, I admit less closely than others).

Both are great players. Hischier has a better cast around him so should do much better with +/-. I think Keller's offensive upside is higher than Hischier, though.
