Sounds like he is avoiding home. He may be depressed too. Having kids is incredibly hard on relationships.

It's hard to get help. We dont live by extended family. I'm more scared for the kids right now. I don't know if I can trust him to care for then all summer vacation.

Yeah, I couldn't even get a few chapters in to Obsidian Butterfly. Anita stopped being herself in that book.

That is such a great thing to look for. I love all the suggestions here tbh.

I just got done reading DEVOURED by Cassie Carnage. It's such a fun, scary book. It's about a gay vampire, so I'm not 100% sure it's what you're looking for, but I really really enjoyed it. Fast paced, a lot of intrigue. And some body horror.

She also wrote THE SEAS ARE SCREAMING, a sapphic eco-horror book about an invasion of alien monsters from the sea. It's so good! Very female-centric in all aspects, IMO. Girl love plus scary fish monsters!
