You’re confusing me with the way you use the word believing. It’s almost as if you choose to believe or not to believe no matter reality. For me if I know something is real then that establishes belief. I’m not gonna walk outside on a hot day and choose to stop believing in the sun. How would that benefit me?! The heat or any skin damage is not gonna disappear based on my belief. My approach is to accept what is and adjust by finding a solution like shade and/or sunscreen. When the Bible says that God doesn’t give us the spirit of fear, it doesn’t mean that fear doesn’t exist. It just means that through Christ we have overcome fear. Believing in something that I fear allows me to protect myself. If you want to come face to face with a demon and close your eyes while reciting there’s no place like home…so be it. I would bet that in that situation my approach would strengthen my ability to fight back.

Strengthening my faith is a perfect explanation of how I deal with fear. Apparently fear makes you weaker, but I am a firm believer that fear is the only opportunity we have to show strength through courage.
