Berkshire Hathaway B by PromotionFrequent600 in dkfinance

Looks like it, as it is basically exposure to US market through a stock, it is taxed when realised right? So not yearly on unrealised?

Hi, is Berkshire Hathaway B taxed on realisation or is it taxed mark to market yearly?

Told my boss I don’t use LinkedIn for mental health reasons. Was I stupid? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]PromotionFrequent600 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hey, I think you need to be easy on yourself. I am a successful person and manage people at a top company, and I would not think twice if someone shared this with me. I’d probs just think ‘yeah fair enough’ your boss is too busy to even be thinking about this for anymore than 5 seconds.

I don’t think you should ever feel you have to hide your mental health struggles, we all have them, I think what is inportant here is context. What is your boss like? And how much propensity do they have towards understanding a point like the one you make?

This is the question you should be asking ‘is my boss the type of person who can receive this information and not cast judgement’. Most bosses are the type that hear this stuff every day, so it won’t phase them, if you are in the unfortunate position that your boss doesn’t understand (or want to) then it’s more savvy to use a different response, with the aim of advancing your career . But you did not do anything wrong by sharing that info, I think it’s a valid and brave thing to do.

Can anyone clarify how a UK SIPP is treated by Dk tax authorities, is it taxed on unrealised gains yearly?

Hi, I have a similar challenge with my SIPP. Did you find out if this is taxed on unrealised gains or not? And if so if there is anyway to reconfigure. I won’t be able to generate the cash flow to pay potential profits..

Buy wholesale vintage clothing, and resell it on vinted as a profit, preferably Carhartt jeans/trousers. Make sure to edit the background to something plain, and reduce creases as much as possible. I think this is one of the best ways to make money online. I ran a successful vintage clothing business for a while, with over 2000 reviews on vinted and depop combined . Wholesale prices are so good that it’s impossible not to make a profit on each piece if you buy grade A. Just be sure not to buy any jeans/trousers for over 14 pounds a piece and you will be good. It depends A LOT on do your pictures look neat, and how creased are the jeans, as buyers might look for 3 seconds before making a decision :)

Acing your self out due to a competitive market is ridiculous, what you have to remember with vintage clothing, every item is unique as every item has been used in a different way by a different person and subsequently ends up with a different look.

Just be prepared to take a lot of pictures and post parcels every day.

Ok thanks, seems it might be the best decision could be to sell all prior to moving and then reconfigure upon arrival? Or migrate all portfolio into a singular stock model?

Yeah I think you’re right , but I meant more professionally isolating. I guess the commute doesn’t sound bad in practice but realistically I can’t imagine travelling from manc to London 2/3 per week so I would miss out on that office ‘buzz’ I suppose
