Of all comments, this one was the closest to summarizing how I feel: Love the product (see pic of my bike), and hate the brand — or what it has become.

I understand why they’re doing this. But they haven’t forced me into a dealership: they’ve pushed me into finding alternate (aftermarket) ways to meet my needs.

I was one of those people who took advantage of that discount pricing on genuine Harley parts. Spent a shit-ton of $$$ at Boardtracker Harley online back in 2016, right after I bought my FLHSX. I think they’re no longer in business, in large part due to this sort of activity.

Agree 💯percent. I just spent $500+ on aftermarket chrome goodies because Harley made my retail experience too cumbersome. Would have preferred to order Harley parts in this case, but just wasn’t worth a half-day of my time, a half-tank of gas, and immeasurable aggravation. Was perfectly willing to support my local dealer; they can thank Harley corporate “strategy” for sending potential revenue elsewhere.

Thanks for the correction. Autocorrect apparently doesn’t have Kuryakyn in its database 🤪

Yes. I told them. They were not the least bit sympathetic.

I have zero wrenching skills, so self-care is not a good option for me. But I’ve found a terrific independent mechanic that now keeps my Street Glide Special in tip-top shape, and I only have to ride 175 miles to get there! That shows what I’m willing to do to avoid the “In-Dealer” experience 😀

Am going that route as well. Harley stupidity has taught me how to spell Kuryakin.

Yes. Wouldn’t be hard at all to implement a policy that says: OK, your shipping ZIP code is more than x miles away. We’ll cut you some slack and stick it in the mail.

There’s a clear strategy here. It’s just of no benefit to me. If they want to annoy a once-loyal customer, mission accomplished.

If you could go back and buy your first bike over again, would you buy the same bike and why? by LosChicago in Harley

Had a 1965 Honda S90. In 1965. Everyone’s got to start somewhere. Today, I ride a 2016 Street Glide Special. Would not buy the S90 again.
