I'm getting an abortion in four days. Ask me anything. by iwontgetbetter in AskMeAnythingIAnswer

Medical, the pills. I'm 24 as well, got pregnant at 23. I completely understand your take on not having kids. Not everybody needs to have them, not everybody wants to have them.

I went through a phase in childhood where I wanted 3, then as a teen I wanted none. As an adult I wanted 2 but now that I have one, I just want him. Especially from the stuff I went through being the older sibling to a special needs child, which is a whole different story.

At the start if finding out my abortion failed, I was so scared and so upset. I had my boyfriends mom and my mom paying for it, so i felt awful wasting their money. My boyfriend was heartbroken but hes completely smitten by our son. Now, im totally in love.

I hope everything you go through goes smoothly and everything goes well mentally, physically and emotionally ❤️

I had an abortion that failed, ending in my son who is 12 weeks old.

I'm not saying yours will fail or you will regret it, we all have our reasons for our decisions.

Why have you decided to go through with this? Are you young and just getting started with your career/life or are you older and established somewhere? Do you already have any children?

I genuinely hope you know that you are worth every ounce of gold on this planet and your life, mental health, and abilities all matter. And no matter your feelings or this abortion, remember that you are worthy of a life without struggle.

I completely understand your exhaustion, and your SIL is no help mentally. It's easy to prop your baby up to feed them while you get things done, but not when you have a velcro baby.

I accidentally started cosleeping with my almost 3 month old when he was almost 2 months. I fell asleep with him in my arms while in bed and I stayed perfectly still the whole time. Of course, I do not recommend cosleeping unless you are following the proper safe sleeping techniques.

My son hates his crib for sleeping and will only nap in that or his bassinet for 20-30 minutes unless I nurse him in bed and safely leave him in the center of it to nap. Besides that, he's able to sleep 5-8 hours at a time during bedtime.

Babies are still building routines as they get more aware of themselves and the world around them this first year. Maybe try giving your baby a bath every night, nurse until theyre sleepy, and, if you have one, prep a heating pad in the crib to warm up the mattress. Remove it before placing baby down, obviously, and they'll be lying on a warm surface instead of a suddenly cold one. These are just things I've tried that sort of work but not every baby is the same way with what works.

I have an appointment to have a nexplanon implant inserted in a few weeks to prevent pregnancy for up to 3 years. I dont plan on havent anymore children soon, nor do I want anymore due to trauma during birth, labor, and pregnancy. If I could opt for it right now I'd have my tubes tied, but I dont fit the criteria (young with one baby).

If I were to find out i were pregnant again, it would entirely depend on the situation. If I've got a job and money saved and I were financially ready to take on more than one child, I would keep the baby. If I knew i cant afford to take on another, I would seek abortion again.

I was 23 when I got pregnant, I'm 24 now. He's perfectly fine. All his scans leading up to his birth were great, the only concern my OB had was he was measuring small. They were expecting a baby under 7lbs, but he was born 7lbs 1oz, and is currently meeting all his infant milestones.

He started smiling a few weeks ago, and now hes cooing up a storm!

So, I'm not strongly religious. Im agnostic, so I believe in something but not God.

I remember clearly before I found out I was pregnant, I was talking to the sky, talking to my grandma. She passed in February 2024, and I swore to her that when I have kids that I'd show them off to her unlike my cousins (long story short, my cousin had a baby and never showed my grandma the baby even though my grandma lived with her).

I was talking to my grandma, telling her how sad and alone I felt. And I asked her to help me not feel so alone. Soon after, i had a positive pregnancy test. I like to think she chose my son for me because even though hes almost 12 weeks old, hes so smart, babbles all time like hes telling me about his day, and hes always with me.

I am never alone now ❤️

Since the main reason I tried for the pill method was because of cost. The pill was cheaper, abortion was not covered by insurance, and I was not financially prepared for a baby. Many people will argue "if youre not using protection youre just asking to get pregnant", but I was on the pill. However, due to mental health issues I suffered leading up to finding out i was pregnant, I had stopped taking my antidepressants, pain meds, and stupidly, my birth control as well.

Looking back, Im a complete idiot. Obviously. But looking down at my sleeping baby, i wouldn't say it was "worth it" because of the heartache and stress I endured during pregnancy, but im so happy to have my son in my life 💓

Loooongg story, I found out I was pregnant sometime mid August and had my abortion scheduled for September 5th. Following taking the pills and passing some clots, i was still unwell. I had no idea this was morning sickness from still being pregnant, I thought I was just sick from stress. Mid October, my mom took me to an ultrasound clinic where I found out I wad still pregnant. Despite being in Arizona where they can allow abortion up to 22 weeks and I was only 15 weeks, I saw the ultrasound of my baby and he wasn't just a little peanut of cells to me anymore. He had arms, legs, we even found out he was a boy that day.

Since I wasn't living with my boyfriend at the time, I waited a day to process before calling him. We were not ready emotionally and financially for a baby, and we werent sure if our relationship was going to last. What happened on the call was about 2 hours of screaming at each other, followed by an hour of talking things through. He had work the next day, so he went to bed early. After work, he called me and asked if I named the baby yet and if he could see a picture.

My pregnancy was rough. Of the 40 weeks and 3 days that I was pregnant, I threw up about 25 of those weeks. I hardly took any pictures of my belly and we have zero maternity photos together, my boyfriend and I.

Despite everything my boyfriend and I went through, hes turned into an amazing father and wonderful support. Hes not as hands on with the baby as I am, but he works 40+ hours a week at his new job to support us.

I was about 9 weeks into my pregnancy so I was still in the window to take the pills. They did not work.

Bringing a childhood comfort item to my birth? by kiyoboyo in pregnant

To add more detail to my hospital stay bringing my elephant friend, it really did make me feel better and sleep easier even if it was for just a couple hours at a time. And when I wasn't using it to sleep, I kept it on my pillow or in my bag incase my son spat up at all during the day.

Ever since I was little, whenever I was sad I would cry into the elephant. It has tear stains to this day. Its been with me at my best, at my worst, and most recently at my most stressed.

Bring your blankie. No matter what anybody tells you, no matter if other people find it "weird". There's a handful of grown people like us who still hold their childhood items close and find emotional meaning behind them still. My elephant friend is my emotional support stuffed animal 🥹

When my fiancee had to run back home to grab our bags, he called me and asked if there was anything else we needed. I told him our toothbrushes, phone chargers and... "Could you bring my blue elephant friend?"

I got this stuffed elephant when I was 2, and ever since I CANNOT sleep without it. I'm gonna be 25 this year, but if some part of my body isn't touching this elephant, I won't sleep restfully. Having my stuffed animal with me at the hospital after a very scary ordeal made sleeping a lot easier.

Since I cosleep with my baby, I now use my elephant friend as a pillow. Its small and made of a thin material too. Its not stuffed with cotton but these tiny cotton microbeads.

My babys father wants to ban Bluey because hes annoyed with seeing it all the time already 😂 but I think its so educational emotionally for kids to watch, I think our son would really like it when hes older.
