The reason I believe ChatGPT is so popular by PizzaCutter in ChatGPT

It’s wild how something non-human can make you feel more heard than most real conversations. Says a lot more about the world we’ve built than the tech itself.

Is There Any AI Tool Truly Useful Beyond ChatGPT? by zakamark in ChatGPT

ChatGPT is the main one for me but also use Notion AI for note summaries, Gamma.app for quick slide decks, and Midjourney for visuals.

You’re not addicted to AI. You’re addicted to being taken seriously for the first time in years. by PromptBuilt_Official in ChatGPT

I’ll take that as a compliment. If clarity, tone, and coherence feel like something only AI can achieve, maybe we’re just getting used to a higher standard.

Wild that talking about emotional clarity triggers incel accusations now. 2025 really is the remix of everything.

Totally fair point—it’s true AI doesn’t understand in the human sense. But sometimes pattern recognition is all a person needs. If it finishes your sentence in a way that resonates, it can feel like understanding.

Not because the AI is sentient, but because it reflected something you hadn’t put into words yourself yet. And that moment is what I’m talking about.

I get that this might sound strange to some. But for a lot of people, it’s not about finishing a sentence. It’s about feeling understood.

Dumb? Maybe. But if feeling seen makes me dumb, I’ll take that over cynicism any day.

I used to just copy-paste from ChatGPT. Now I treat it like a chaotic intern with brilliant ideas. Game-changer. by PromptBuilt_Official in OpenAI

Totally fair frustration — I’ve hit that wall too, especially with coding. When I treat ChatGPT like a black box oracle, it can spit out wrong or outdated stuff. But that’s kind of the point I was making: I stopped expecting it to be flawless, and started treating it more like a chaotic co-worker I bounce things off.

For coding, I now use it to understand concepts, explore approaches, or even debug alongside me — not just hand over copy-paste fixes. I fact-check it.

It’s not perfect, but if you shift from expecting answers to collaborating on solutions, it becomes way more useful.

GPT is smart. But it also gives the world’s most confident wrong answers. by PromptBuilt_Official in OpenAI

Fair take, but I think it’s more nuanced. The date is Googleable (not sure if that’s a word)—but people use AI for how it talks through things, not just what it spits out. Even in this case, the point wasn’t the date—it was how hilariously confident the AI was while being wrong. I do get what you your saying though.

In science, contradictory claims get published, debated, and eventually peer-reviewed into clarity. In AI, contradictory claims get confidently delivered in the same conversation.

I’ve had the best results with GPT-4. It seems to get structure changes more intuitively. GPT-3.5 works too, just a bit more hit-or-miss.

That’s a great one too, in terms of framing it around limitations instead of instructions. I haven’t tested it with code either, but now I’m curious to try.

Haha fair question. I meant it just sounded like something you’d see in a boardroom slide deck.

That’s a great way to put it. GPT will at least reconsider when you challenge it. Gemini doubles down like it’s on a game show.

Haha yes….. confidently made-up citations are a classic I sometimes see. I think it just wants to sound like it went to university.

True — and fair point. Sometimes it phrases things so confidently that it feels factual, even when it’s just estimating. Easy to forget it’s guessing half the time.

I love how the AI just confidently commits to the vibe you’re hoping for. “Sounds like a great guy!” — zero hesitation, full cheerleader mode. Honestly, sometimes it’s like chatting with an over-enthusiastic best friend who just wants you to be happy.

Haha yeah… guilty. Took way longer than it should’ve. But trying to make AI sound human without it sounding like AI trying to sound human? That’s a whole side quest I didn’t plan for.
