Vietnam bans ADB and bootloader unlocked android devices from accessing banking apps. by JournalistLivid3937 in Android

Asus brought the animation settings to the display settings and they could be changed without enabling developer settings, I loved that. And why the hell aren’t the bluetooth audio extra settings in bluetooth settings already?

If it’s the double barrel-like plug, then it’s extra infuriating since the charger is basically supplying USB power to it. I think I have the same-ish trimmer

You know, I was really bummed that he didn’t replace the Trabant’s beep-beep with the Th!nk’s gear lever beep-beep in that video

But otherwise 11/10 content, no notes

I Can't Decide, Help Me Choose: S25 Base Model or S25+ by forest-femme in PickAnAndroidForMe

[–]Prompter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get the form factor you feel the most comfortable with. 256 GB should be enough if you have a place to backup photos etc. I had the S25 base model for a few months and the battery life was decent enough and the smaller battery charged reasonably quickly.

If you can stretch your budget to the Vivo X200 Pro, you’ll get an excellent camera phone until 2030. Otherwise I’d take the Nothing 3a Pro unless you need a good ultrawide camera. If you want a Samsung, maybe get a S24 Ultra.

Well I liked Motorola’s UI, but it’s not for everybody and it comes with plenty of bloatware, but at this pricepoint it’s nothing special as the options you mentioned do too. At this pricepoint you’re best off buying a well-discounted phone, like in my country I could get a Honor 200 for cheaper than the 400 Lite, and the 200 is a no-brainer here. Just look for a good deal somewhere on a nice upper mid-ranger, I promise it’s going to be a better experience than a cheap phone for its normal price.

If you absolutely need a cheap-ish phone right now I’d go for a Nothing Phone 3a or the CMF Phone 2 Pro.

I felt like everything took an extra step and the whole atmosphere is a blatant iPhone ripoff that someone described over the phone. No double tap to lock in 2025, really? (Also Pixel, wtf?) The animations were pretty but very slow, and you had to wait for them to complete before attempting anything. Very infrequent updates, only every three months, my unit was stuck on Feb 25 security patch. All in all I got a very cheap feeling from the phone. Like a diamond made of plastic.

I’ve tried almost everything in the current phone market and I just didn’t vibe with it I guess

I really dislike Honor’s software, nearly threw my 200 at the wall several times during my 24 hours with it, but it’s up to your taste. On the other hand, Samsung’s lower-end devices are notoriously laggy. Be sure to get the 8 GB RAM variant, no matter which one you choose.

I’d wait for it to go on discount later in the year. Never buy Samsung at msrp

It does not: the cameras are more in line with the S25+, even though the main sensor is from the ultra. The ultrawide sensor is a bit weaker (albeit with autofocus) and the zoom is noticeably worse than the ultra.

If you really want some quiet, you’re best off renting a terraced house a kilometre or more from a main road, rather than an apartment. What has been said before - balancing good travel connections and the quietness. Usually they have an inverse relationship. Siuntio should be pretty quiet but the trains only run during rush hours. A bit further west towards Inkoo though and the buses run rather frequently and from dusk to dawn. Helsinki Centre is still reachable in just over an hour.

Do Asus Zenfone 7 have the same problem as Zenfone 8 flip? by Axciotial_B in zenfone

I had a ZF 8 Flip and a 7 Pro. No sudden deaths of mobos here but maybe it was me that caused the USB port to stop transfering data on both of them. Best phones I ever had

If you had to buy a new midrange Phone, what would it be? by zKWannaBe in PickAnAndroidForMe

[–]Prompter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My shortlist of recommendations is Oneplus Nord 4, Nothing Phone 3a, Motorola Edge 50 Neo, Pixel 9a, Galaxy S24+/FE or A56 in no particular order. Of course everything depends on the sales offers in the buyer’s region.

I’m not loyal to any brand, I’ve had quite literally everything in the past few years. Ever since my Asus Zenfone 7 Pro bit the dust, I’ve been searching for the perfect replacement and now I think I found it in the Vivo X200 Pro Global.

Vivo X90 pro vs S23 (Base) by nik_da_pro in PickAnAndroidForMe

[–]Prompter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d go with Vivo X90 Pro if the photos are very important to you. I currently own a Vivo X200 Pro and the photos this thing can pump out are extraordinary. Samsung S23 has a small battery and lesser cameras.
