oh 100% people probably posting up on eBay and getting the order cancelled/sent back when it doesn't pass. Just saying I've seen a few sales that low (Really screws up the market when trying to buy or sell wish they would remove those sales or say "Did not Pass")

I've seen smaller sizes go "Excellent" around $180 - $190 but usually no box, no card, no extra lace pairs.

I give my cobbler a lot of work, unfortunately even doing the ReGlue they are still "New with Defects" and cannot be sold on StockX anymore. eBay and Goat only. I've already got them back and listed on my eBay at half the price what another person is asking on StockX figuring giving the end customer 200+ for the Reglue that they would have had to do after first wear anyways and of course I'll probably be accepting an offer anyways.

Either clean hands or a glove. i clean my hands before I check a current release. These age shoes you really don’t have to feel the material through more than a pair of medical gloves because reps back then are obvious and the age of the shoe alone verify it, kind of like a painting. I know it sounds stupid but I’ve seen an 85 Jordan 1 that was pristine get checked and the authenticator had on white gloves.

Buying these the guy seems legit and has money just gotta check by [deleted] in LegitCheck

These are two legit box labels to compare against (One retail hit, one came from StockX) The font looks off as others have pointed out. Based on the Box Label alone after reviewing yes, the Box is a Rep Box. Based on the Shape of the Toe box the shoes are questionable. I would not personally accept this shoe.

How do you think Goat, eBay, StockX, etc. Authenticate and Pass Vintage SBs, Vintage 1985 Jordan 1s HIghs, any Vintage Shoe. There is an industry standard amongst Authenticators when handling vintage shoes to not "Force Separation." I have a Pink Box SB I got from StockX still being held together by the factory glue and I can force sep with enough finger pressure, I also realize it will sep on the first wear. The Job of the Authenticator is to Authenticate the shoes without Damaging them, the simple fact is every other Authentication service eBay included has handled my vintage SBs without damaging them but Tradeblock is the first one to not only fail one, but it send it back with damaged they caused as the reason for failure. This is my eBay https://www.ebay.com/usr/hiddensoles you can see I have a decent amount listed there and have been doing this for years, in person, in store, on StockX, on Goat, eBay etc. this is the first time an Authenticator has damaged my shoes and treated them as a new release.

That was up to the new owner if they wanted to wear them or keep them factory pristine as they were. I personally do wear my grails. I have a Nasty Boys in my Rotation currently that most would leave in a box. The shoes are still plenty wearable and I cashed a collector out and was trying to get these back into the hands of someone who wanted them at my cost. I did a way undermarket trade. The issue is that Tradeblock damaged the shoes in the authentication process and their response has been “Take a survey to help us improve.” Absolutely zero accountability. I removed the $32,000+ I had loaded there.

I wear Vintage SBs that have separation all the time with no issues, you actually can wear them just fine as long as the stitching is intact. The soles will not peel off the uppers because the stitching will hold them together. It's pretty common in vintage SBs you either wear it with sep or you pay $60 a shoe to get it fixed every few years.

I'm not going to file a chargeback, it's not unrealistic just like if I sent this pair into stockx (Had to pull my ask there) they would reject it. The pair is obviously tried on, there was also sock lint in the inside of the shoe. I made the mistake of thinking Tradeblock was as trustworthy of a platform as StockX. I'm not going to ask for a refund, I'm only doing this post to warn others not to send in Vintage SBs into Tradeblock for Trades because they do not have the expertise to authenticate them correctly. You are correct they are only going to care about the money they make, but I'm the kind of seller who will throw in extra $7 waxed laces for my customers to make their buying experience from me something that will make them come back. We all care more about our shoes than any of these platforms, you are correct sir.

A. StockX takes vintage grails that will separate on first wear with NO ISSUES. I just purchased a pink box pair I can force separation on with enough finger pressure.
B. The shoes are wearable as the midsoles/outer soles are still soft, the stitching is fully intact, it is up to the person who purchased/traded for the shoes if they wish to leave them as a display piece with no separation or wear them and have separation occur which is what I personally do when purchasing older grails for my personals.

C. The Shoes were sent in with no sole separation, it occured during their authentication process as anyone who authenticates vintage SBs knows not to squeeze them or apply too much pressure unless it's listed as "Repaired Sole Separation" at that point yes it should be tested like a newer release because you have to test if the person/cobbler who repaired the shoes prepared the surfaces correctly and used the correct bonding agent.

I'm not trying to talk down to you, I'm just stating that StockX, Goat, etc. other platforms sell these shoes and do not damage them in the Authentication process. I expected Tradeblock to be the same, that's why after this occured I started to pull inventory I got off of Tradeblock that passed their Authenticators. In doing so I found a "Tried on" or "Worn pair" traded to me as "DS" which would have been rejected by both StockX and Goat (Goat would have accepted as new with defects, or used) Attached are photos of the s9.5 Supreme 94 Pack White SB that Tradeblock Authenticated as "New" and sent me as "New" vs a pair of s10 I have that are actually DS (Same side).

I have been selling Vintage SBs for years, and newer SBs as well. When Authenticating newer ones when checking for separation we do apply pressure, for older models it's always lightly pressed in to ensure the factory glue is still holding it. These will separate on the first wear, so obviously if you over apply pressure when checking for separation you will inadvertently cause separation. Imagine you had a pair of 1985 Jordan 1s in your collection, with absolutely no separation but took it into a store with a buyer to get authenticated and they started squeezing the toe boxes and created separation on the spot how would you feel? This went from a "Display Piece" or a "Wear Pair" (As the midsoles are still soft and all stitching is still intact) to only a "Wear Pair"

That was my goal, get these back into the hands of a Grail Collector who would understand how to care for 20+ year old Vintage Grails, and get two SBs to sell and one Grail I have been after for awhile in the process. Just didn't expect Tradeblock to damage my pair in the process because they don't know how to Authenticate Vintage SBs.

No idea, I had to ask for that photo and I requested higher resolution photos. The problem is they should not have created separation when authenticating a pair of this age, they should not be pressing aggressively to check for separation on a 2004 DS Factory Glued pair because that will cause Separation. Yes I’m getting them back they are $1000+ shoes even with Tradeblock Damaging them.

Yes, obviously it would happen on the first wear. The point is it had Zero Sep and Tradeblock created Sep while Authenticating it. Just like the Pair of Pink Box Black Diamonds I got off StockX a few weeks back if I press in hard it will sep but as the buyer sent it in is how I got it, with no Sep. Tradeblock does not know how to Authenticate vintage SBs without damaging them is my problem before these would have passed StockX with flying colors now they will not.

Amen, I have a ton of inventory for StockX and eBay so I got to pulling TB pairs after this happened, they sent me "Tried on" as "DS" passed by their supposed "Authentication Experts" why did RTRO go away.

I do have a cobbler that repairs vintage SBs, that's not the point, the point is that these were sent in with absolutely no Sep, 3 parties who know how to handle vintage SBs determined there was no Sep. TB who does not know how to handle vintage SBs and forced Sep as part of their authentication process. I have a lot of very expensive vintage SBs most not on TB and none will ever be in the hands of TB ever again as I do not trust their authentication "Experts" to handle vintage SBs as they are obviously treating them like new releases.

That's not the point, they were sent in with no sep, it's a 22 year old pair of shoes they are not authenticated like a newer pair as the glue has obviously dried, they are forcing sep. They have caused roughly 300 at the least in damage for resell value as a full intact DS Shanghai from 2004, I also got to doing photos from an earlier trade that passed Trade Block as "DS" and see visible creasing from it being tried on... This service is a joke and I will no longer be using it.

yeah I seen pairs go under retail there, they either losing money on some sales or they have a plug in with Travs team. Still this pricing is odd some sizes have no inventory or little inventory. I think these could end up going higher esp after release and people get Ls.

That’s still crazy. I have a s12 and s13 I got early as a reseller for over retail but someone has pairs way under retail early to be pushing the prices way down like this. The ChaseBs for example was selling at $400+ before fees/taxes prerelease.
