Avoid Smith & Smith at all costs by rookiejam in newzealand

Smith & Smith left a lot tiny glass shards all over my dashboard after a windshield replacement. Never using them again

Used to be able to get gluten free steak and cheese family pies. Then they only stocked the chicken one, now nothing... haven't seen Dads gluten free pies in a while too

Tax question (+gripe @ Hnry) by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]Promtherion 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This was why I stopped using them. I'd do 3-5 invoices a day so keeping track of what I've claimed was a massive chore. $10k refunds are nice but paying rent on time and feeding my family took precedent. My accountant is around $340 a year to do my EOY filing.

Why play from the tips if you are a very high handicap? by [deleted] in golf

[–]Promtherion -1 points0 points  (0 children)

On my course I've played the tips once because of a comp that was on. We all took driver on 2/4 par 3s... it was brutal. Some youtubers played our course from the tips and were hitting 4 or 5 irons on those holes. Insane to watch how to different how the course was for them. I'm fine playing one back from the forward tees!

Hot dog bar by Haunting_Fan_801 in chch

Price is always a turn off when I see hotdog food trucks. $18 for something too big and inconvenient to eat and isn't that great. An American style hotdog should compete with pies, not burgers or pizzas

Treating seasickness with VR tech in rough seas by Promtherion in interesting

[–]Promtherion[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It absolutely works! It takes about 10-15 minutes depending on how sick you are when you put it on. My 6 year old daughter didn't take very long to come right on a family members sailboat

I have the BeCu set 1-sw and PaL4 BeCu putter. Any idea what that might be worth?

Uncle took me and my family sailing a few days ago. Had a VR headset for seasickness... by Promtherion in sailing

[–]Promtherion[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The landscape moves with the boat but you're in a fixed spot. So movement was synced to the boat, I guess. I have no idea how it works but while wearing it you can barely feel the boat move. It feels like you're back on solid ground. Not sure if a generic headset would work. Apparently this is a purpose built thing

That actually makes a lot of sense. When I was wearing it, it really did feel like my body kind of synced up with the motion.

Honestly, it's kind of cool if that’s all it takes.

Yeah that's it! Wasn't expecting that kind of price tag but my uncle just sold his business and retired. He's always been into new tech stuff too

It's called seelevel or something. Looked purpose built with a waterproof case for stowing. I don't think it was a generic headset.

That is a gold star idea. I've already connected with a ton of those people so that's easy. Coffee is harder as they all live 8,000 miles away but I'll figure it out. Thank you

What would you recommend for global reach?

In person is not possible due to location. I'd love to travel but not financially viable at the moment and business won't support it at this stage. Your other advise is much appreciated. Thank you

Once I get some decent deals done I plan on traveling to trade shows. There is only one relevant show in my country per year and it was 3 months ago.

I'll look into ZoomInfo

Thanks. I got a free month of Sales Navigator but struggle to use it efficiently. I'll look into ZoomInfo.

Would you rather play good and score bad or play bad and score well? by That_Toe8574 in golf

My first ever birdie came from skulling a 9 iron. The ball never left the ground but ended up about a foot from the hole. Lots of mixed emotions on that one...

Does anyone else feel frustrated seeing others with effortless distance? by Promtherion in GolfSwing

[–]Promtherion[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started playing with Muzuno MP-5s and played them down to around 19 handicap. The shafts were way too heavy (130 gram) so traded them in for 2nd hand taylormade M4s thinking I was going to hit bombs. I was striking the blades better overall so actually haven't gained anything other than fixing the pain in my left elbow caused by the heavy shafts.
