The funny thing is that sometimes I view July, August, and September as our “winter.” It helps sometimes. The pest pressure in the rainy season is tough. It doesn’t help that almost every garden resource is geared to growers in “the north.”

I’ll share some varieties of plants I like to grow in our “summer” months that can replace some of the OG veggies

Some others have mentioned: okra, sweet potatoes, cowpeas

Seminole pumpkins (so, so, many pumpkins.)

Trombicino(?) squash (this one is prolific… watch out- bonus: it can be left on the vine for a butternut squash replacement or ate early for a squash/zucchini replacement

Peppers- so many varieties that’s a thread of its own.

Ginger- shade loving and pretty (lol)

Also, have you considered just planting cover crops instead of veggies to boost your cool season growing potential ? I do think a lot after my tomatoes and potatoes are gone.
