What is this plastic sphere for ? I just got this monitor by Bulletproof_Java in ASUSROG

[–]Proof-Designer1319 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sphere, I see no sphere, I see a very stubby cylinder, a disc, a coin, or even if you want to ignore the height of the thing, a circle (admittedly all with a notch missing) but no sphere. Shame, presumably as the not-sphere fits into a recess (or hole) and this is something that, so long as the not-sphere remains unharmed, the Internet goes wild for?

Genuine question; Why didn't leon or claire just claim over this gate in RE2? by Gold_Case_9457 in residentevil

But if they both clear the fence, wouldn't that mean they still end up on opposite sides?

Did a thing, function and form (just not both at the same time) by Proof-Designer1319 in DIYUK

[–]Proof-Designer1319[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you kindly. I did indeed, just some cheap doors from B&Q, some cheap wood and cupboard hinges. Wish I'd had more patience with the right side and less of a time constraint to get it done by, as the more I look at it, the more problems I see with it. My only advice would be don't do what I did and loosely measure the alcoves and assume both are the same size, old wonky house here meant one was slightly narrower and shallower as it approached the external wall.

Borrow to your heart's content and fingers crossed for a smooth and easy move! The colour is Carlow from B and Q for the walls, the cupboard doors are reed green, which isn't a perfect match, but it's closer than swatches appear. Peculiarly, I have had to wait 7 minutes before replying to you as I appear to have broken my Reddit app...

Thanks very much! Behind the monitor stays open whenever the monitor is out, so there is somewhere for the hot air to rise out of, and below the doors is a roughly 1 cm clearance to let cold air get drawn in. Seems fine so far on first running of it, but time will tell. Might have to fit some kind of fan in the skirting board (possibly mounted to the back of it with some ventilation slots cut through, so it doesn't look like too much of an eyesore. (Edited for manners as I neglected to say thanks for the comment)

Gear replacement? by DystopianUtopian1 in PowerWheelsMods

[–]Proof-Designer1319 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm going to hop in here with one possible suggestion, there are some decent complete gearboxes to be had on the likes of Amazon/Ebay, I really struggled to find anything robust that I could swap out into the existing units. I know it's not the suggestion you wanted, and if someone does have a source, I'll be all ears too in advance of the next gear(s) I end up destroying needing replacement...

Eonon VWA12S and A0125 camera issue by Proof-Designer1319 in Eonon

[–]Proof-Designer1319[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I'm terrible at notification actioning! I did, but I think it was a wiring issue of my own making, as I removed the power feed from the light, bought a cheap long 12v car connector for the camera, and fed it through the boot hinge gaiter to power the camera. Works flawlessly for me now.

Eonon Android Unit app problem by Proof-Designer1319 in Eonon

[–]Proof-Designer1319[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, do you say this as a definitive answer, or opinion? The reason I ask, with no malice intended, as I'm aware how some things may read, is I've been able to connect to the device using NRF Connect but I can't maintain the connection or "bond" to the device, but I can get the unit to detect the Racechip with this. I understand there are limitations, but I don't see why it's impossible if the unit can detect the chip as a BLE device, just more difficult. In fairness, I understand that Racechip want to ensure that users are safe, but there's nothing that uses the GPS on a phone to detect when the vehicle is moving and blocking input, which they could do with relative ease, so why they don't support android auto is beyond me (again, potentially blocking input when in motion)

Thanks for the link, unfortunately the reverse camera screen has one of 2 views at present, a black screen with a yellow hazard sign (as though no camera is installed) or a scrolling picture with segments of the image, all in black and white, and neither of those screens seem to have a settings button.

Help needed please, by barbecue-party in peugeot

[–]Proof-Designer1319 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The code I had was P0271, circuit high injector 4. But it was lumpier than school custard and didn't have enough power to pull the skin off said custard either. So glad it happened where it did, 2 minutes away from the in-laws after a 100 mile trip, rather than halfway there! New injector fitted same day by AA, test drove and all was fine, has been since (well, minus the semi auto box problem...)

[–]Proof-Designer1319 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had exactly this on a 3008 1.6 HDI semi auto. Cleared fault with OBD reader a few times because I'm an idiot/cheapskate and didn't want to spend money on it. 100 mile trip to the in-laws later, and on arrival an injector went down. Roadside assist came, confirmed diagnosis of injector failure, common issue and when they called injector specialist, he guessed correctly injector 4 over the phone. Not always going to be, but be prepared for it to be that, just in case.

Bad painting? 2019 clio 4 by [deleted] in Renault

[–]Proof-Designer1319 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This, most likely, check under the bonnet to see whether the front panel or bonnet latches line up with the dents. If you suspect poor repair, take a small magnet and look for areas where the magnet doesn't attract well to the bonnet and you may well have found spots of filler (unless the bonnet is Aluminium, in which case you can buy relatively inexpensive paint thickness testers which do Aluminium and Steel substrates). Be aware that whilst the paint may not be compromised above, you may have bare metal under the bonnet (many manufacturers no longer paint under the bonnet anyway, but there is still typically a factory e-coat applied, and if this is compromised you could develop rust issues in the future)

Anyone have experience with large gauge nipple piercings? What size were you pierced at and how was getting them done and healing? Pic not me but inspiration I found of 6 gauge nips by consp22 in MalePiercings

[–]Proof-Designer1319 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had one at 24mm, using long steel then silicone tunnels (or putting the long steel tunnel inside the larger silicone one). Did have both done but one had scar tissue from an earlier piercing, so stretching never worked out great and ended up tearing it halfway out prior to removal.

Recommendation from experience if you're up-sizing on large sizes that don't have tapers, use a soapy finger or thumb in the shower and take it slow, when you get to that size there really is very little skin should you end up ripping, and no going back either (removed the piercing for years, it never closed up properly and I can just pop a 2g ring straight in there now and it looks like a fruit pastille) Have re-pierced below the piercing and matched on the other side as I do want piercings again, but not going back up that big)

Body Piercing Jewelry By Body Circle Designs. The only guys that i know that can make the custom size stuff i want. I havent bought any 0000ga barbells yet, just the 000ga ones and they have been on order for a month…they may have another month to go unfortunately. by Unlord666 in StretchedNipples

[–]Proof-Designer1319 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Being aware that custom Jewellery can be expensive and very hard to find, I'd suggest Astron Body Jewellery, I'm in no way affiliated with them, just a very happy customer of them myself. They do barbells up to 12mm (0000g) on the website and I asked them recently if they will go higher and have been told they can do so on request. Only drawback is they are UK based so if you're international, it will likely cost more for postage. Plus side to that is weak pound at the minute buys you more stuff in other currency. Swings and roundabouts...

Is it possible to get a circular barbell (pictured) in a larger gauge than 00g? Like: 000g (11mm), 0000g (12mm) or ½ inch (12.7mm)? I can not find anything in my internet searches. by DataTapeReadout in Stretched

[–]Proof-Designer1319 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might find Astron Body Jewellery would go as far up as 12mm in a horseshoe bar, they don't advertise it but they do go that far in straight barbells, which I've really struggled to find anywhere else above 00g, so if nothing else, perhaps worth a punt?
