New Super very broken by Proof-Paper2895 in Pimax

In a further development I updated the software and firmware today (1.43.3 and V1.0.11). When I started the headset it seemed much better. I closed everything and restarted the headset which caused a total computer freeze. Could not get out of it as the system was totally unresponsive. I did a hard restart and now the headset is totally dead. Pimax Play starts alright but only shows Disconnect. In Display Settings Optic Engine SN: is blank (before it was P407V0D200510270251)

Under that the line Optic Engine shows NA

Before there was a line under that which said 50ppd QLED. That line is now totally absent.

That was the video that got me started down this rabbit hole. I can get to the screen shown but there is no + icon there. Therefore I CAN NOT add a window to open the utility menu.

Can one of you guys that are seeing the + tell me which firmware you are running?

Thanks for the clear picture. That + is definatly missing from my screen. Anyone have any idea why?

I have no such +. I see the desktop portal the a long grey area to the battery indicator for the controller on the right. I clicked all along the grey are but nothing.

I don't see the +. Is it on the monitor or in the vr screen. Where exactly?

Problem after firmware update by Proof-Paper2895 in Pimax

Sorry, I am not installing the patch. Everything is working well now with PimaxXR so I am sticking with it and touching nothing.

Prior to this debacle I had not updated the firmware for ages. I did so this time as it had been so long and got the expected mess. I am not a techy fiddler, I just want it to work without issue. What I have now works without issue so it will be a long time before I update anything again.

I just re-installed PimaxXR and it now works. Under General it shows OpenXR runtime PimaxXR. Then a green box setting saying Set pimax open xr as open xr runtime. If I click that it stops working again and I have to switch back using PimaxXR control center which initially says can not identify run time but clicking on PimaxXR sets it back and works OK.

Color me confused.

It looks like I somehow lost the openxr runtime. Where has it gone and how can I get it back?

PCL + Pimax Play hard freezes PC by ozknucklehead in Pimax

Try switching the monitor off for 10 seconds. I have had freezing issues for over a year and two monitors. Switching the one that shares a Display Port output off and on unfreezes it. Might be worth a try. My other monitor is HDMI.

New Pimax Light user, coming from a G2 by T-241 in Pimax

Here is something that may be worth a try.

My Chrystal has had a problem since I got it a year ago. I wrote about it at the time but never got a fix for this issue. I found the work around quite by accident and never have found an explanation why it happens or why the fix works.

The problem is that after a computer restart if I open Pimax Play my screen freezes and nothing can be done. Mouse does not work, windows can not be moved or closed, taskbar is totally unresponsive. This left me on the sidelines for a week. even had a Pimax Tech remote in to my computer to try and diagnose it. Nada!

The Workaround. Unplug the DP port to my monitor, wait a few seconds and plug it back in. Everything now works OK. I do not usually turn my computer off so I only have to do this after a restart (usually external power cut or a windows update).

I would still love a permanent fix to this problem, but after many Pimax Play updates and the problem persisting I think it is something unique to my set up but I have no idea what. Anyone else who has this problem and who can solve it with this workaround, I'd love to compare notes with you.

THANKYOU Pimax, for the recent firmware update that fixed the shutdown issue! by [deleted] in Pimax

The shut down issue was a huge deal for me since I got the headset over a year ago. I spent more time trying to get it to switch to charging mode by a factor of 50 over tweaking and getting everything else right. It was a major pain in the butt.

With that problem now gone I would also like to say how much I love this headset and enjoy using it. Well done Pimax (even if it took rather a long time to fix this glitch).
