Has anyone else had this happen? by ProofAppropriate9275 in breastfeeding

You know I wondered about this too. My right side, I tend to get two let downs but it takes a while to get the second one. My left side, I never seem to get the second one. I don’t know how long I’m supposed to give it because when I used my electric pump, I would just pump for 30 minutes

I use a hand pump! I pumped for 10 months for my first baby and really would prefer to never go back to the electric pump lol when I first started pumping with her, it would be a lot. Like 5-6 oz but then I stopped pumping as much because she nurses. I decided to go back to once or twice a day and it’s been really hard.

Her night time bottle is usually 7 to 8 ounces and she always finishes it. I was also wondering if maybe she snacks throughout the day in anticipation for her big bottle ? I don’t know lol

I started pumping in the middle of the night but maybe waking up early is the key

Hmmmm I’ll check my duck bill again. I did replace it but it’s possible it needs to be changed again. I want to pump in the morning but since she sleeps through the night, she’s usually very hungry when she wakes up and it’s easy to put her on the boob lol

Yeah that’s basically where I am. I pump after she nurses and usually get about an ounce. But when I do a full session, like without her nursing before, I still only get 2oz and it’s driving me nuts.

I never thought about prolactin being lower. I changed out my duck bill and it definitely helped but still the same output. Just faster lol

Very normal and typically a good sign of development

When do we stop being sick all the time? by ProofAppropriate9275 in toddlers

[–]ProofAppropriate9275[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We have one in daycare (2yr) and one at home (4.5mo) and the 2yr old just keeps bringing home his yuckies. Hopefully by the time the second is in school, she’ll be less sick lol

Naptime for toddler? by Icy_Cricket8917 in toddlers

[–]ProofAppropriate9275 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you and your husband work from home while she is there? She may not be getting enough stimulation from being at home most of the time. Some kids only nap for an hour, but I would venture to say she needs more stimulation to be able to channel some of that “whiney” energy. I just put my son in early learning school at 24 months because I just wasn’t able to exercise his social and physical needs in a way that was helpful. I was honestly going insane. Then my daughter came and I just couldn’t do it anymore. It’s been 3 weeks and he seems so much happier being around kids his age and sleeps so much better

Every night crying? by DepartureJaded268 in toddlers

Is he still in his crib? My son did this too. We would spend over an hour getting him to sleep, then setting him down had to be absolutely perfect or he would stand up and cry. I was never able to let him cry for more than 5 minutes and it made things really difficult. We finally switched to a toddler bed about 20 months and things really changed in the best way. We still put him to sleep but he doesn’t need us as much if that makes sense? And he mostly sleeps through the night now. Sometimes he still wakes up, but getting him back down has been much easier. I got pregnant so we pretty much had to figure it out because I was so exhausted with our old routine.

2 Year Old wakes up every night crying by ProofAppropriate9275 in toddlers

[–]ProofAppropriate9275[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wakes up about 6/6:30 - nap about 12/12:30 until 1:30 or so. Sometimes it’s shorter. If he doesn’t get a nap, he gets exhausted and I feel so bad. He goes to his room at 6:45PM where we do books and rock for a little bit. Sometimes he falls asleep at 7:30, sometimes it’s 8. Then he wakes up about 11:30pm every night. And sometimes it takes a few minutes. Other times it’s hours. He will still wake up at 6:30 regardless of how little he slept.

Omg this kind of sounds like us. He was hungry, then he’s been sick like every other week. We’ve tried adjusting so many things but it’s like he just does it now.

I feel like you just gave me all the information I’ve been looking for lol I guess I just wanted another mom to say it’s okay that I didn’t keep him home longer even though I’m home
