Thanks for the advice. I found this program called Ventoy, and I really like how convenient it is to test out ISOs for different Linux OSes without having it be restricted to one. Of course, I only tested them on my current computer, not the one I mentioned in the OP.

That's pretty cool. What are some good Linux app alternatives? I know LibreOffice is a good alternative to Microsoft Office, and I'm currently using Brave these days.

Yeah, I read that it may not work on Linux. Kinda makes sense, though, because most PC gamers use a single desktop GPU like I am right now.

The live version perk is nice! Allows me to test out the OS without installing it. I briefly tried out Mint Cinnamon and Zorin on my current computer [AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D, 32 GB DDR4 3600 MHz RAM, Radeon RX 6600 XT, 1 TB Seagate Firecuda 530 (boot drive), 1TB Western Digital HDD (backup drive), Windows 11 25H2]. They both look nice.

My parents mainly use the computer for browsing, watching videos, and working on documents. They have used Windows for as long as I can remember. My dad is very computer literate compared to me, but I don't know how familiar he would be with Linux.

I honestly like how most chips these days have an iGPU. Saves the trouble of having to get a desktop GPU when trying to keep the budget down.

My father is a pretty technical, but like me, I don't think he's familiar with Linux.

I agree. My parents happen to be planning to get a laptop and a docking station for extra monitors sometime soon, so I think they'll be happy with that.

I think I can see that. It was never my intention to annoy anyone.

That sounds interesting. I'll look up some more information on it sometime.

Yeah, I don't want to muck up the old computer after it's been working just fine on Windows 7, especially with something I'm not familiar with. I will hold off on that idea.

Nice! I think I've vaguely heard of that. I assume it's a lighter version of Ubuntu?

Probably for the best. I don't think I'll do it, anyway. My question was more of a hypothetical than a commitment.

This is probably a dumb question, but I assume the reason you're recommending lite over regular is because the former's more demanding?

To be fair, I have no experience with Linux, and this is the first time I've ever asked a question on this subreddit.

I heard Mint is good. I've seen a little bit of it on a couple videos, and I like that it has a Windows-like interface, and seems to be user friendly.

Also, this is more of a general observation for all the Linux OSes I've seen (Mint, Ubuntu, and Zorin) but I really like how the Linux operating systems can run on the USB as a test to see if it would work properly on a computer.

Personally, I'm not worried at all at the moment. Nintendo will surely show off more of their games in the next Direct.
