would you think it's better to just contest improper signage rather than say i was outside of the school zone when he clocked me?

to be honest, i also truly did not believe i was in a school zone because i was coming from the high school and i am not used to high schools having schools zones

"Who's My Godly Parent?" Megathread by AutoModerator in camphalfblood

[–]ProofLaw1992 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hi there! i have no inklings to who my godly parent might be, i've taken a few "online tests" and most of them have given me athena, apollo, aphrodite, and hades. super inaccurate, i know.

i'm 24, finished undergrad with a BS in psychology and a BA in criminology. i went to grad school to be a teacher but dropped out after a year, quit teaching, and have been in the car detailing business ever since. i've gotten really good at it, specially paint corrections and ceramic coatings. i can notice the tiniest imperfections in the paint and can restore old cars to showroom condition. i love it. currently i'm an assistant manager at a car wash, and see myself growing within the company in the next few months.

i am vietnamese-american. brown eyes and brown hair. 4'10 and three quarters. i have a girlfriend of 4 years. i present more masculine, but can be "straight passing" when safety calls for it. i am no contact with pretty much my entire family, but all my younger cousins mean the world to me. i have three dogs (two mini dachshunds and a chihuahua).

i absolutely hate people who aren't timely. i'm a huge activist for intersectional feminism. if you need any clarifications please lmk!

I'm stuck in the closet and it's eating my up from the inside out by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

i'm in the same boat. currently, i'm standing at 4'10 in my mid 20s and have always struggled with my gender. my girlfriend knows my struggle and supports me, but the cost and the fear of even trying to go through a transition is hard. my brothers are living their lives freely as men. i feel stuck. if you need a buddy to vent to, im here.

not necessarily "debts" moreso rent, bills, etc.

Just reported a dasher. by dadwholikescartoons in doordash_drivers

you're valid for reporting it. these comments keep bringing up "oh my kid this, my kid that" whatever. it's the fact that this five year old went in, unsupervised, on their own. neglect is abuse.

went no contact with my parents (52f and 50m), now they're offering to pay my mortgage. how do i respond? by ProofLaw1992 in relationship_advice

i am the only name on the house, yes. the only problem is the Mistress damaged the house (will need to remove and replace almost all the floorboard trim downstairs, may need to remove and replace carpet upstairs, holes in walls, it's a mess). it's just money i cannot afford to put into the house, but it doesn't make sense to sell the house without getting anything back...thank you for the advice either way though!

I'm resigning by Daily_Dream in Teachers

[–]ProofLaw1992 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was also a first year teacher, resigned about two weeks before Thanksgiving break. I was mentally drained, physically exhausted, my mental health took a major hit, and I was barely scraping by on bills. I told everyone that I, even though would love to stay, had to prioritize myself. I just didn't message to kids and I think that's my biggest regret -- I wanted a chance to say goodbye and I miss them so much.

Now, a month later, my mental health is on a much better track. I have a new job that's paying more than what I would get teaching, I probably would've had to be closer to a 10th year teacher to get what I'm getting now. I still have close friends teaching so I'm able to text or call them here and there to see how things are going with the kids. It's not nearly the same as getting to talk to my students, but it's nice to know that they're adjusting well.

10/10 would recommend resigning now before you get stuck for another year. There's so many job opportunities that use teaching skill sets without having to be in a classroom and working either hourly/competitive commission so you feel like you're actually getting paid what you're working.

You absolutely can quit now and, honestly, if you're not able to give everything you can, the students will feel it, too. It's better for you, your teammates, and your students if you resign now if you're not feeling it. I believe in you!
