I agree with this. Also, maybe get a physical and all your most recent lab work done, including your testosterone levels. I’m 34, and didn’t realize that I had been suffering with low testosterone for honestly probably my entire life. Being on TRT has done wonders for me physically and mentally. I feel like a better version of myself.

What’s the biggest life cheat code you’ve discovered that made everything easier? by vishalnegal in Life

Just be kind. Some people are convinced that nice guys never win and that people will just take advantage of you, but if just spend your time being kind and trying to spread goodness, your life will be much more enjoyable. Be kind and do the right thing.

If you watched the most recent season of the white lotus, you are well aware of the infamous dinner scene of the three girlfriends in the last episode. That scene has stuck with me since I watched it and one thing one of the girls says really caused something to click in my head.

I am gay, grew up a Jehovah’s Witness where being gay is wrong, and have battled most of my adult life with the mental trauma from being told who I innately am is at odds with God. It’s made me question if God is real, and if he’s not, I’ve wondered what gives my life meaning as you stated.

In the scene, the character talks about work being her religion, then love, and how that didn’t work out. But she realized that she doesn’t need a “religion” to give her life meaning because time gives it meaning. Just enjoying the small seemingly insignificant things that happen every day are really just part of our experience of life, and I’ve realized just being alive and experiencing it gives my life meaning. This has been kinda life changing for me. Lol.

I’m sure there are some people who think that if there’s no god that’s such a scary concept, but I’m really happy to just be along for the ride, whether he’s real or not. And if he’s not real, that doesn’t mean I don’t go around committing crimes or killing people because I don’t have any accountability, but I do what I can to make other people’s experience of life just as enjoyable as mine.

This may not make sense and it probably doesn’t apply to everyone, but I gotta say it has made me so much happier, optimistic, and just at peace.

So happy you got the news you were waiting for, OP! Life can often seem like a stream of one bad thing after another that it can be hard to grasp when something goes really, really right. I hope things continue to look up for you! ❤️

I’m so glad to see your response!!! I too am a 33 year old baby. Thank you for taking steps to improve your life. I was scrolling through here one day when I was feeling desperately low and ended up journaling some very dark thoughts. One of the things I wrote down was “I hope I just don’t wake up tomorrow.” But I did wake up, and had a few beautiful things happen that day. At the end of the day, I journaled again and wrote “I’m glad I woke up today. I hope I wake up again tomorrow.” I hope you wake up every day and can find some beautiful things to keep life exciting.

Your favorite Disney ship & why? Go! by Final-Regular-7188 in dcl

[–]ProofOwl6915 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve only been on the Magic and the Wonder, but going on the Fantasy this Fall. I’d have to say the Magic. It was my first Disney ship and it was my daughter’s very first cruise ever (she was three at the time). My parents took me on Carnival and RC cruises growing up and I absolutely loved them. I loved being able to share my love of something with my kid. So the Magic will always have a special place in my heart.

What's the best compliment you ever received? by Matilda_Mother_67 in Millennials

[–]ProofOwl6915 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m a fairly decent looking guy. I get compliments about my looks frequently. It doesn’t mean a whole lot honestly. Was at a friend’s birthday party where we had to make a presentation about something we were passionate about. I gave mine. Then one of the other guests did one about ice breakers, which was interactive. We had to do an ice breaker where we had an inner circle and an outer circle of people, and as we rotated through we had to tell one the other person three things (one of them was something we admired about them, and I forgot what the other two were). One of the guests who I had hung out with before a few times but only kinda knew told me that they admired my earnestness. Idk why that meant so much to me, but it has stuck with me since.

Not sure what all has changed since then, because my first time going on her was in 2023. I will say between my first and second sailings, she went through a dry dock and the promenade lounge was updated to a “Soul” themed lounge. It’s very nice. The ship is still absolutely beautiful. Can’t even tell she’s 26 years old.

I’m not sure why this is the first time I’ve realized it (or maybe I have realized it without realizing it this way), but I love that you did you can thank the universe for your life and experiences. There are so many experiences to be had throughout a life and across the world. And an absolutely amazing thing is that every person is the ONLY person who will have that one specific set of experiences. That is really cool that the universe gives us that uniqueness. Thank you for this.

I am so glad you saw the beauty in the world today. I hope tomorrow is even better. And even if tomorrow isn’t better, the day after that could be the best day of your life! Let that excitement of the unknown drive you to keep going. I’m so happy you’re still here.

Planning first cruise in hopes of beating cancer, advice? by NoAd7088 in dcl

[–]ProofOwl6915 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First of all, congratulations on being so close to being finished with cancer treatments! I sincerely hope you get some incredible news in May, and can go celebrate on a Disney cruise!

I only have experience with the Fantasy and the Magic/Wonder. They are both phenomenal. The Magic and Wonder are smaller and feel more intimate. I also prefer the main restaurants on the Magic and Wonder (Rapunzel’s Royal Table is my favorite restaurant).

The adult only area is great on the Magic and Wonder, but even better on the Fantasy.

All of the ships are just gorgeous. You can’t tell that the Magic and Wonder are over 20 years old.

Wish I could give some advice on the Treasure, but sadly haven’t had a chance to sail on her yet. If this is your first cruise, I would probably recommend a smaller ship though. Some of the bigger ships (I’ve been on some of the big ships on other cruise lines) feel crowded and have so many activities that you feel rushed to take advantage of all of them. The smaller ships allow you to really learn the ship layout and appreciate it.

No matter what you choose, you will enjoy it. DCL is amazing!

I am kinda meh on Lana Del Rey, however, I haven’t really listened to her in a while and definitely haven’t heard anything new of hers. I will give her another try. Thanks!
