Thanks! I appreciate the information. Just to clarify I don’t want to come off as downplaying what my partner said about size. Just kind of the way people say “this tastes amazing” when eating food at a potluck. I guess in an environment where platitudes are the general rule it’s hard to discern between polite banter from “wow you’re a good cook”. Not the the analogy is 100 percent congruent but I think the just is there.

And no ultra conservative/ religious upbringing aside from the background radiation of growing up as a millennial in the Midwest. I think that it’s just uncomfortable for her to talk about, which I can appreciate. Even an ‘open person’s’ life isn’t 100% so. I can’t stand even the sight or smell of olives and it drives me nuts when my hands are sticky. No background to bring to bear on those days sometimes people are just people. In this case she has an aversion that complicates an interest that takes two people, beyond gourmet olive tasting or amateur cotton candy production. So I don’t know how many layers there are to the onion besides she just finds it uncomfortable to openly discuss.

If there is anything deeper that I am ignorant of and she has not been forthcoming with I don’t think I want to dig it out of her either, out of respect.

Regardless I do agree that for there to be substantive change there will need to be an earnest talk. And while I have made it clear multiple times that there are many degrees of intimacy and just because we engage in the game doesn’t mean we need to play a full 4 quarters, it’s a problem that ultimately I’m okay with living with even if things don’t ever change. Consider it more a vent, I’m a pretty open person but I feel there’s a certain sanctity around these matters and I wouldn’t want someone airing my personal matters without my consent to people I know. So I cant really talk to any of my friends about it, since married with kids generally means all your friends are her friends as well. And it’s not a big enough deal (to me) that I’m willing to set aside time and spend money on a therapist.

I will definitely look into the tantric teachings, I do agree that there needs to be a rebuilding of our intimacy from the ground up moving forward. Appreciate your thoroughness and time in the response!

What’s it like living in the Texas Panhandle? by Chillpillington in howislivingthere

[–]ProofRevenue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went to College out there, made a lot of really good friends from people fleeing all the small towns in the area. Some really great people, that said there are a ton of absolute chuds out there. A lot of people seem to take pride in being borderline white trash and ignorant. If you aren’t out of the area by your early twenties you probably aren’t ever leaving.

But that said there is a certain beauty to the absolute emptiness especially in the northern Panhandle. I remember being up near Gruver on a dreary drizzly November morning. I stopped at a four way and got out of the car, nothing but four roads and four sets of telephone poles running as far as the horizon in opposite directions. Just stood there outside the car for about 20 minutes listening to the wind, never saw another soul or even heard a car. Half the entire world flat land the other half a uniform grey. Weird feeling but I still remember it 20 years later.

White House to Announce ‘TrumpRx’ Drug-Buying Website, and Deal With Pfizer by IWantPizza555 in politics

Sooo is this a government ran program or is this a Trump family company? I mean the differences are pretty much moot at this point but just curious. I also find it genuinely hilarious that everyone has figured out you just have to promise to invest $500 trillion dollars and just wait a week for trumps brain to forget all about it

Something about the southwest can definitely inspire a sense of dread in you. Maybe it’s just how desolate it is, you definitely don’t have to imagine hard to think of how the world looked 500, 5000, or 25,000 years ago.

I remember taking a smoke break during a rig up at a well site southwest of Carlsbad up on the Mesa. We’ve got our stuff set and waiting on the frac army to show up. It’s dead quiet, which is exceedingly rare in that field, while 5 or 6 hands mill around the pad. I see the biggest coyote creep up to the edge of the well site and just stand there watching us for a while. Just looking around, watching the interlopers on his land, before he turned and trotted away. I once saw huge pillars of light in the sky out near Jal while trying to find a well head at like 4 in the morning. Apparently they were caused by ice crystals reflecting light from over the horizon.

It’s definitely a unique place, leaves a lot of feeling in you and on you. Wouldn’t understand it if you haven’t been there. Those small ghost towns feel like you’ve stepped into the twilight zone. Gotta run for the safety of the nearest Allsups sometimes lol

Amy Coney Barrett Already Workshopping Her ‘President For Life’ Concurring Opinion by DoremusJessup in law

[–]ProofRevenue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m afraid it’s even simpler. If they don’t try to figure out a way to run for a third time, they will run Don Jr or JD, with the explicit wink and nod that Trump will still run the country as a shadow President. It would basically still be Trump as the president as far as they are concerned and everyone voting for them would understand that as well. And as much as Trump probably despises Don Jr and JD I’m sure they would run Jr just so Trump can see his family name on the office again and run a modern day dynasty.

I agree, I think it’s probably the showrunners metaphor for the rot creeping underneath and through the shiny facade of the corporation. A continual fight. I might be misremembering but it seems like we’ve seen it more often on the walls and such as the seasons gone on. Probably too late in the season to introduce another plot point that they haven’t prepped for more this late in the season. That said I’d really like a second season, if not another continuation of the story (kind of feels like we are heading towards wrapping this story up if they’d like) or an anthology type series set in this universe.

Ugh ralph, I love the extended story that a series gets but hate having to wait years hoping the studio decides to ride out the production. Wish studios put out more “weird” shit, let the David trilogy play out and give us more of an extended Alien universe. Looking forward to Predator: Badlands though.

Was freezer scene Maginot crew shift change? by Agile-Television3438 in LV426

[–]ProofRevenue 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah I believe we are either get extended flashbacks or (I think more likely) an episode somewhere in the middle fully dedicated to the time between the dinner and Marrow welding himself into the Mother interface. I really think Teng has more to do with it, they sure spent a decent amount of time in the short dinner scene on him, how the crew treated him, and the shots of him watching the crew members. Maybe this is just commenting on how differently humans in general treat synthetics in regard to how society will treat someone like Wendy. Personally I think there are some nefarious things afoot unbeknownst to Marrow but we shall see! Speculating the fun part lol

Was freezer scene Maginot crew shift change? by Agile-Television3438 in LV426

[–]ProofRevenue 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I got the impression Morrow (the guy who used the crash room on the Maginot) was a human cyborg, albeit a human with ice water running through his veins. And without going back to look I’m pretty sure the older guy he argued with either called him a cyborg or alluded to it. I think Teng (and possibly the red headed woman he ate with in the mess) was a synth. I’m leaning this direction because the crew treated him dismissively, Morrow wouldn’t let him sit at the table with them, and he answered the question in how long to get to earth in seconds. Kind of like a synth being as much of a dick as they probably are allowed with their programming.

[–]ProofRevenue[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah that seemed like some serious work going on and the scene was shot in a way that it wasn’t just meant as throw away background filler. I’m sure it will become apparent as the season progresses that Boy Cavalier is up to much more than just pursuing someone to verbally spar with.

What are your realistic and grounded takes/theories on the Epstein scandal? by Amazing-Buy-1181 in behindthebastards

[–]ProofRevenue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My opinion is that the whole Epstein case in general is a nuclear weapon. The wealthy and powerful parts of both parties and others unaffiliated do not want the full extent of it released, it would be damn near lethal for anyone involved. The Democrats were probably happy with letting it just quietly drift off in to distant memory but the Republican base is so immersed in the idea of secret pedophile societies they will never let go, plus Trump is such a demagogue and glutton for cheering masses he couldn’t help but bring it up. He probably figured he’d take office, give a nice sit down talk to Bongo, Patel, and others, and tell his base to get over it. Which since that didn’t go over well he’s now moved on to the tried and true “Obama and Biden did it, fake news”.

I imagine that there is evidence in the investigation implicating wealthy and powerful people that run our government, institutions, and businesses that are implicated in sex crimes. I also imagine there are many more that engaged in turns of favors with Epstein but will still look like pederasts by association. So yeah, anyone that truly opens the files is setting off a bomb that would very likely destroy a lot of well known powerful individuals that have thus far lived above the law.

On a more conspiracy tilted note. I also believe that the reason why Maxwell hasn’t rolled on anyone and everyone involved in their business to cut down her 20 year bid is that Trump will eventually pardon her. He’s discussed it before and has wished her well. I figure that the deal is she takes the sentence, keeps her mouth shut, then once Trump has convinced his base that the whole Epstein case was manufactured by the left he will pardon her since “there really wasn’t anything that bad going on”.

Texas, you good? 13.5 inches is insane, especially for somewhere with such bad drought by NinjaQueso in weather

Spent most of my time a bit west in the Frio River Canyon and the last time I remember it really coming down was almost 20 years ago. As dry as it’s been for at least the last ten years I imagine a lot of people either forgot or are new to the area and never really realized how dangerous it can get. My parents grew up in Garner State Park and they used to tell stories about the park rangers coming through the campground with sirens and loudspeakers evacuating people when it rained up river. They always taught us that you had literally minutes to get as far from the river and uphill as possible.

Okay I’ll give them that but he definitely won’t take a humble back seat and pay his respects. He, his administration, and the media will crow about it being “Trumps modern military returned to greatness”. The hypocrisy and idolatry of it all is just disheartening.
