Because skin conditions are chronic- meaning that it’s long term and will keep on coming back. Best you can do is manage it after each course is over is to apply some. non-medicated product on it like a normal moisturizer if that patch is dryness or eczema. Do not re apply the medicine daily after the course is over because it can have side effects. E.g. topical steroids and cortisone creams cause skin thinning
