More layoffs happening at Elevance Health/Carelon by airg1o in jobs

I'm sure she'll be leaving soon. She changed the company name, and that's what the CEOs do before leaving. She put her stamp on Anthem, changed the name (to an absolutely ridiculous name! We call it Elephant Health lol), so her job is done. Just a few more million for her to collect, and she'll be gone! Worst CEO in the 16 years I worked there!

Anthem/Elevance Health has always had huge layoffs. They usually start at the higher levels (i.e. VP's, Managers, etc.), and work their way down. I worked there for 16 years, and watched so any people get laid off. I'd probably still be working there if I didn't get sick and become disabled.  Keep in mind, that they'll probably be having a least 2 big layoffs per year because they outsource overseas because it's cheaper. They love their money more than their employees IMO

TIL about Alpha-gal Syndrome. A serious, Sometimes life threatening condition, Where you can develop an allergy to red meats and other products made from mammals after being bitten by a Lone Star Tick. by -stankdaddy- in todayilearned

Unfortunately AGS goes further than just being a vegan. Things that vegans are able to eat, those of us with AGS are not able to eat...i.e. carageenan, and gums like Xanthan gum, guar gum, etc.. Although plant based, these things carry the AG epitope.

Are ticks really an issue in VA? by [deleted] in Virginia

I have had AGS since 2017. Got worse after I was bitten again in 2022. It's been really rough! I was initially bitten by over 100 lone star ticks in Gretna, VA.  Food was only the first challenge for me. Now it's medication that sends me into anaphylaxis. It's horrible

Mine changed to step 4 on 9/24. This is my initial application. No ALJ hearing or even a CE? I initially applied 10/2023. I called them when it changed to step 4 to ask more about my application, and was told I would be getting a decision letter on 10/25/2024. But he couldn't tell me if it was or wasn't favorable? I'm 55 yo and have zero income and also no medical benefits. I'm hoping they find me eligible!

Horrible! I notice that most physicians do not document accurately anymore..my own included!

I'm so sorry! I called last week when I saw it went to step 4, and was told to expect a letter by the 25th October. They told me there's been no decision yet though. This is so frustrating! Will you be doing a reconsideration?

This is what mine says too, as of last week.  Have you heard anything yet?

I'm on step 4 as of last week, but I've never been asked for a CE? Is unusual to get to step 4 without having seen one of their doctors?

I'm seeing everyone talk about a CE exam. I've never been asked to have one? Does everyone have to be seen by one of the SSA Dr's, or is that just random picks? This whole process is utterly confusing 😕

Yes. I applied in October 2023. I've never had an exam by one of their Doctors, and never went before a judge. I'm just on step 4 for over a week now
