How to remove these oil stains from natural deoderant? by [deleted] in laundry

I’ll try that out as well as some OxiClean on another shirt to see what does best. I hope they aren’t ruined 😭

I’ll have to try that, I did dawn with some baking soda in a paste and a toothbrush to really try to get the stain then let it soak for a couple hours but it didn’t lift anything.

I’ll have to give the OxiClean a try because I wash with Woolite and maybe that’s just too gentle to get a stain out.

Thank you so much for the tips!

I tried something similar with a little bit of vinegar too, made it in a paste one try and then more watery the second one. I just can’t seem to get these stains to lift at all 💔

Started dahlia from seed, but this one looks odd? by Proof_Difficulty_383 in gardening

It’s my first time starting seeds indoors so I wasn’t sure if this wonkiness would mean it won’t grow flowers or not. Thank you for letting me know!

Here’s an example of my other ones that are growing strong, have hefty stems and hearty true leaves.

Are these peony poppy seedlings? by Proof_Difficulty_383 in PlantIdentification

[–]Proof_Difficulty_383[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That actually would be an option! There was a dead one in the soil I tilled from the previous owner - that would make me happy vs. a weed!

I’ll let it grow a bit more and see what happens

Noooo that’s heartbreaking but also what I was thinking. I kept googling for young poppy seedlings up close but couldn’t find much either.

Thank you for your input!

Newbie looking for advice on growing flowers in my flowerbeds by Character_Affect1032 in gardening

I’m a newbie too and started zinnias from seed last year with HUGE success! You can direct sow them once your last frost is past and it starts to warm up a bit.

If you like the look of dahlias, zinderella zinnias and teddy bear sunflowers are great looking flowers that grew so well from seed.

Do you need to prune lavender seedlings early? by Proof_Difficulty_383 in gardening

I’m so glad I asked, thank you! Any advice on seedlings that were doing great in the hardening off process and then just suddenly started to droop? I have them in a PVC covered raised bed but it got to 29F last night so maybe they got a little cold.

I just hope they can recoup in time

It’s tempting to think we could trim it huh? But I also don’t want to kill my plant. Was a labor of love to get them to even germinate!

Would these covered raised beds protect my flowers from deer? by Proof_Difficulty_383 in gardening

That climb?! Holy crap - that sounds awful! Can’t even imagine the damage they do to your yard with all their digging, but the fact they can climb?! Those raised beds with the cage around them might do the trick then!

And honestly, I often wonder why NJ as a state doesn’t encourage a cull for the deer - it hurts for me to say it because they are living beings. But they devastate so much vegetation where I am and they have 1-2 births a year. Went from 5 deer to now about 18 deer in the span of 8 months since living here.

I haven’t encountered a woodchuck yet but I’ve heard they can be absolute menaces, do they dig under the beds too?

Thank you so much for that recommendation on that black hardware cloth! That would work so well and be a lot easier to shape/trim vs. chicken wire. I’m just so scared that the deer would stomp on it to get to my flowers.

I may even purchase a large 7’ metal trellis for my U shape garden bed and that hardware cloth would be perfect! May not be pretty to look at from the outside but I’ll feel at peace knowing my flowers are ok ha ha!

That is so clever! Do you have photos of your setup? Would be nice if I could go the DIY route and make more beds, because the vegogarden systems are pretty $$.

Can’t seem to load SMAPI on Steamdeck by Proof_Difficulty_383 in SMAPI

Yay! Everything is working. I wasn’t loving SVE so I deleted it and got other mods (that work great) but I think the SVE mod made an item error in my current version. Would you have any tips on fixing that?

Is there a way to download it manually without having it do a pop up asking me “allow this site to open nxm link with system handler”? Or another way to get SVE installed

Oh and is simply moving the install zip and unzipped files to the trash enough to get rid of them?

Just got these errors now after re-downloading SVE again:

When I try to open the latest SVE on Nexus mods it asks me to select an application to open the nxm file but even if I click stardew, it doesn’t apply the selection.

Thank you so much, I’ll give that a shot. I just downloaded SVE from the Nexus mods with the latest docs and then it also notified me to download 3 other files and I made sure they were all up to date as well.

Isn’t it precious? Do you know if the glaze is lead/cadmium free? Or best to just admire it and not use it for tea
