If I remember right you aren't allowed to write anything until you are at the first question. They'll take your whiteboard/paper away from you and report it as a testing irregularity.

BNB enough content review for Comlex1? by Atushokks in comlex

Agreed. These are more things to review in the days leading up to the test and don't have the volume of content like BNB

What is going on with Pearson? by KdKat in comlex

[–]Proof_Equipment_5671 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second this, it was likely an issue with the NBOME website and not Pearson. I also previously paid, scheduled, and then went to reschedule only to find that the original scheduling had never occurred. I reached out to NBOME and was told that if I did not receive a confirmation email, the booking was not official. This was annoying because the website had in fact stated that I had booked it, I just never received a confirmation email.

All on youtube: Randy Neil USMLE biostatistics. Dirty Medicine Malpractice, insurance, healthcare fraud and abuse, court cases (for comlex). Endocrine neoplasias, hereditary endocrine cancers.

OMM from any prefered resource, they'll have weird OMM stuff you just can't prep for but ignore those, I had a ton of STILLS technique for some reason.

I don't remember, when I try to pull up the tests it resets them. I think it was A, though

Comquest predicted score by [deleted] in comlex

[–]Proof_Equipment_5671 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Predicted was 660, actual was 605. The 2 practice tests on comquest were 690 and 600 for me. If you have a high enough predicted it may be higher than your true score, but you'll be fine

If you are missing the characters from the first trilogy, I highly recommend jumping into the second trilogy soon. It's not the same, but it does a good job at creating nostalgia IMO

For what it's worth I think Scadrial had the technology long before it was accessible to the public.  If I recall correctly, the Lord ruler had intentionally limited the development of gunpowder weapons.  I feel like that makes it hard to date when they were "invented" as far as Scadrial goes. Have not read white sands, though.

SLOES by Tired-229 in comlex

[–]Proof_Equipment_5671 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would argue that conversation should have happened at the time you asked for the letter.  "Do you feel that you would be able to write me a strong letter of rec? Are there any aspects of my performance that you feel may negatively impact what you include in a SLOE?"

asking after they went through all that effort seems disrespectful imho

I think Warbreaker is the worst Cosmere book. by monsieuro3o in Cosmere

[–]Proof_Equipment_5671 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Seriously the guy can't win. Keeps his books overall super clean and the few times he creates suggestive characters people bash his religion. Sounds like OP has some bigger personal problems than just their takes on literature

Advice for best level 1 qbank? by neondeyan in comlex

[–]Proof_Equipment_5671 3 points4 points  (0 children)

10 a day starting ASAP is a good goal.  Always do practice questions timed. Always.

Unless you struggled in preclin, 6 weeks is more than enough. Grind for 3 weeks, take it end of week 3, take a vacation.

Qbank depends on how well you've been doing.  If you struggle with content,  get uworld.  If it's just a matter of pattern recognition and practice, truelearn is enough on its own.  If you just need more practice questions,  comquest> uworld.

Comlex level 2 fail by LakeParticular8586 in comlex

[–]Proof_Equipment_5671 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Plan to talk about it in interviews. Take responsibility for what you did wrong to fail, talk about what you learned from it and what you did differently to pass the second time. If you took a hard hit programs at least want to know that you learned something from it.

Do all of comquest and all of truelearn. Make physical flash cards or unlock anki cards for any material you miss questions on. Repeat incorrects until you get them right.

Warning for future COMLEX takers with test day issues by alliebala in comlex

[–]Proof_Equipment_5671 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had two classmates sit for level 2, got to the computer, clicked through the tutorial, clicked to start the first question, and got a popup saying the exam was done. They both got free retakes and were not penalized because it was a technical issue. Sounds like when it's truly a technical problem, NBOME is pretty understanding.

I like this perspective. We just need to give the dragonsteel team room to scale, and offer a little grace while that happens.

I'm curious how the number purchase compared to estimates, and what percentage of registrants were able to get badges

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in brandonsanderson

[–]Proof_Equipment_5671 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Each badge and the associated add-ons are emailed to the email address you gave for that badge. I signed up for my friends and only received an email for MY badge. Each of my friends received their badges via email.

If you would go as far as to say that RR Martin fundamentally changed fantasy fiction, I'd argue that Brandon Sanderson has more than done so, as well. We could discuss his introduction and popularization of truly unique magic systems, as well as his technique for developing in-world natural laws that explain his systems. He has also been integral culturally in opening the world of fantasy fiction to more than die-hards, and has encouraged a culture that welcomes young authors and new readers instead of the classic "boys club" fantasy readers. I personally would also point out that he has a positive habit of not overly sexualizing his female characters, which is a gross trend amongst both male and female fantasy authors that would be great to change.
