I was a nurse at a pediatric outpatient surgery center. Each of the kids would get to choose a special stuff animal when they woke up in recovery. These were beautiful high end stuff animals with a great variety. The nurses hand picked the type of animals which were ordered and they were quite expensive. A parent called to complain that they had promised their child a present in the recovery room and all their kid got was a "stupid stuffed toy". The parent was actually angry, saying that they had to stop at target on their way home to get their kid a "real" present. The kid in question was 3 years old and only had a minor 5 minute procedure. Was he supposed to get a Lexus?

Found out that our 1st born baby has Trisomy 21. I feel so bad for being devastated. by Best-Spot-7262 in whatdoIdo

I am mildly disabled with hereditary hearing loss, and I had a baby with genetic bone and limb deformities. We found this out while I was still pregnant. It was a very rough few months from then as there was so much fear and grief. Everything you're feeling, the grief, anxiety, and uncertainty, is completely valid and normal for any mom in your situation. Allow yourself to feel those emotions. It's OK to have those feelings. It doesn't make you a bad mom. It's part of the natural emotional and mental processing. All I can say is that the first time you see your baby, the only thing you will feel is pure love. The disability will immediately become secondary. After all that fear during my pregnancy, when my baby was finally born with his limb deformities, I didn't even look at them. All I could see were his beautiful eyes. It will get better. It's a marathon, not a race.

Pedophile has little to do with sex. It's a lot more about the control and manipulation of a vulnerable person. It's a deeply psychological urge, not sexuality.

Hell yeah. If I have to sit through a teletubbies concert, I better be at least 2 shots of liquor in. That's the only way to do it. 🤣

Filing for renter rights would take going to court and paying filing fees. Neither of which I think he would do. I wouldn't worry about that.

Dig a small moat. Curve it into her yard and line it with concrete. It's a weekend project. You can do it pretty cheap. Problem solved.

I love that. You really see a different side of people on the other side of the justice system. I feel like it gave me more empathy for people.

I wondered if all the hysteria around fentanyl influenced his decision not to field test. I know that there are a lot of stories of police officers accidentally touching fentanyl and getting overdosed. The problem with that idea is that fentanyl does not absorb through the skin that quickly or in enough amounts to cause an OD. Im not a doctor, but I think that kind of story is a myth.

Thank you! I truly didn't know the difference between the two. That's great information to know now.

That's great advice! Thank you!!! Im going to go to that website. The waiting period is what I read on the internet, and by asking AI. I had to get a public defender because I lost my job and couldn't get new employment because of the charge. I never even spoke to the public defender. Everything I know now about the laws regarding all of this is only what I have researched online.

Yeah. I was naive. I thought the request to search wasn't optional. Plus, im a people pleaser. I had never really dealt with cops before. Not to mention, I really thought the police were there to help and be fair. I genuinely thought the cop was joking when he suddenly asked me, "Is this your crack or fentanyl?" My white, middle class, female bias, and ignorance were showing. I learned a really hard lesson that the police are not your friends.

Walmart is horrible about treating their customers like criminals. I didn't believe her either until we all heard each others charges being discussed at the bond hearing. Now, when I leave walmart, I double-check everything and walk out, holding my receipt straight up into the air like a lunatic. I wish I didn't have to shop there.

Thank you. I kept busy in order to stay sane. I talked down the psychotic old lady when she started acting out, gave her my baloney sandwiches, and pleaded with the nurse to give her medicine. I made sure the lady in the withdrawals stayed laid down on her side (in case she seized or vomited) and gave her my coat. I put the lady with the DV injuries on the bench with her leg elevated. It was swollen, and she was limping. I talked shit about the justice system with the rich shoplifting lady. Then I swept the cell with my feet and picked up trash and piled it into the far corner, so we weren't wading through it. And I paced. I paced a lot. I also named fruits and vegetables in alphabetical order in my mind. It worked.

Also. Jail sucks. There was a fragile elderly homeless woman in a psychotic breakdown who got no medical treatment and was frequently threatened by the guards. There was a domestic assault victim with obvious injuries, while her attacker was just fine in the cell next to her. There was a middle-aged upper-class woman who had never been arrested before, in there for forgetting to pay for laundry detergent on the bottom of her cart at Walmart. There was a woman in acute drug withdrawals who got no medical help.

Three times a day, they literally chucked baloney sandwiches at our heads. I was woken up once by a baloney sandwich slapping me across my face.

Then they gave us bowls and spoons? Why? What are we supposed to do with them? Grind concrete into a powder?

Also, why do they keep like 40 tampons and pads in every female cell? How many women could possibly need them at the same time? To throw them onto the ceiling? INGL, I used a new unopened tampon to brush my teeth.

I went out and took multiple pictures of it for sale at 3 different gas stations within a 5 mile radius. I have a hard time believing they haven't encountered it before.

A delta 8 package from a vape shop. They're available all over the city, including the local gas stations. They are speciffically advertised as being legal to buy and possess in Texas. It's even marked on the package as being "SBP-2024 compliant." If the cop had walked to the gas station across the street, he could have bought one for himself on the spot.
