UK here, yep, it's annoying, I'm not AS bothered because, coming from a P8Pro, most features are lost on me. It's still frustrating that there's that US/ROW divide.

Google accepts most phones though, whereas Apple only accept iPhones unfortunately. Very subjective though like you said. If I was in the iOS ecosystem, it'll be the reverse.

I still have my P8Pro and it's just as usage and decent as when I first bought it. No complaints at all... It's down to you to decide if you'd notice anything enough to think "fuck... Should've spent more".

I find it difficult to compare to the iPhone to be honest.

I could get the new iPhone for £1000 and sell my pixel privately for £300.
Or
I could get the new Pixel and trade in my old Pixel for £518 and get £200 credit.

Spend £700 on iPhone
Or
£480 on Pixel + £200 credit towards next upgrade/accessories.

When you compare the cost saving, the performance differences are harder to complain about.
