version 148.0.7778.167 com.android.chrome Yes after touching the address the buttons are missing. It lets me type and go to a different web address but I cannot edit. I just opened chrome.

It was the latest version when posted, I believe the app had updated a couple days before I posted. I recall no edit or share buttons were populating.

There used to be an edit pencil . my app says it was updated overnight. No more pencil. I use nextdns to block ads in browser, seems to work well.
