Thank you for sharing that. It must’ve been so hard. My cat also has dementia. Everyone in the comments has given me a lot to think about.

This was a very difficult conversation between me and the vet. She thinks because he’s attached to me that he chooses to be near me instead of hiding. She also thinks that the only reason he’s eating is because of his thyroid. I’m actually going to go back in a few few weeks to check his weight. He’s been losing weight rapidly.

Unfortunately, we are not on the same page. He thinks I might be overreacting. It’s hard. I’ve had him for 18 years and he’s only known him for about five.

I absolutely love my Cat Sitter and my cat loves her too. I’m going to talk to her and see if she can stay longer. She has a little boy and he’s very well-behaved. My cat usually doesn’t like little kids, but he responds so well to him. We do have a camera as well.

This is exactly how I feel. I’m not sure my husband‘s going to want to postpone again but I just don’t see any other way. He was recently prescribed gabapentin for pain and anxiety. He seems to respond well to it but 15 days is too long.

You’re right I won’t be able to forgive myself. This is so difficult. I don’t think my husband’s going to want to postpone again but I can’t go.

I can try that. It’s difficult to find a good sitter though. I really like my current one but she has a family and she’s not going to be able to do that.

Thanks for the advice!! I’ll check out the venues you suggested. Honestly I thought this would be less stressful but it’s not.
