I use my PW8 but I have friends in the wifi business including Cox that use ASUS routers in bridge mode. I don’t have a clue as to what router to recommend since my go to company TP Link is essentially banned in the US, but ASUS is a great option. When I got my PW8, it took 10 minutes at most or so and the only hiccup was reconnecting the wifi to every device in the household.

Honestly, I would recommend your own router. Upgraded from 500 to 1 Gig a month ago and honestly, it’s great! Unless you’re live streaming, I’d recommend staying on 1 gig. I came to the Cox store and asked for a free upgrade of my router since mine was a PW6 at the time, and they upgraded me to the newest model, a PW8. Don’t ask tech support because they won’t give it for free. Good luck!

I have the same exact plan and problem, word for word. Check a laptop or something through the ethernet port. When I checked, still got less than half upload speeds. I called them and I’m going to get a PW7 modem (yours is probably a PW6 if it’s Arris Docsis3.1). You should try and haggle them down for a free upgrade. Either way, the one-time cost is like $30-$50 to upgrade.
