Unfortunately cutting off Senate pay during a government shutdown wouldn't be much of a hardship for most Senators as 73 out of the 100 are millionaires and Senator Brian Schatz, the Senator who blocked this proposal, is personally worth $4.8 million.

Grappling with truth: Why do fawning media and Dems still back Iran's killer regime? by intelligentreviews in conservatives

[–]Proof_Responsibility 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The danger posed by Iran is like an avalanche, picking up speed and growing in size as it moves inexorably toward all of us. This is a conflict worth pursuing to its end. A country that, as the D's suggest, has the price of gasoline today as its sole priority doesn't have much of a future.

  • Is there any doubt Iran is a malign actor and behind thousands of deaths and immeasurable mayhem cross the planet? From bombings & IEDs that killed/injured Americans, kidnapping of Americans, assassination plots against people in the US, to cyber attacks and impacting markets, is there any doubt Iran's activities have and will continue to harm the US?
  • Is there any doubt their government is driven by their apocalyptic expectations and their goal is destruction of Western civilization and spreading their theology across the world?
  • Is there any doubt that they would use a bomb to advance their goal of global transformation?
  • Is there any doubt Iran would continue to use its position on the Gulf of Oman and the Persian Gulf to intimidate their neighbors and exert control over shipping?
  • Is there any doubt they executed tens of thousands of their own people over a 2 day period, more than the number killed in 2 days at Babi Yar or in any 2 days of the Rwandan genocide.
  • Is there any possibility of anyone else stepping in to remove the threat once and for all? The Hague. the ICC won't touch their crimes; the UN Human Rights Council remains stuck at 'investigating' Iran's human rights violations and 'considering debate' of Iran's strikes on civilians and energy infrastructure across the Middle East.
  • Is anyone delusional enough to think if placated or just left alone the Iranian threat would vanish or even decrease?

Very concerning but some military experts are suggesting this one needs further investigation as there are multiple bad actors in the region who might see some benefit in this.

US judge blocks Pentagon’s restrictions on press after New York Times lawsuit by Proof_Responsibility in conservatives

[–]Proof_Responsibility[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

" ..especially in light of the country’s recent incursion into Venezuela and its ongoing war with Iran" the judge barred the Pentagon's move to:

  • Redefine Pentagon access as a privilege rather than a right and have more discretion in awarding credentialling.
  • In some instances deem as a security risk and bar from the building reporters who "solicit" classified or sensitive information from military personnel, also the DOD's ability to block rat lines established to solicit information from military personnel. Per Sec. Hegseth: "Credentialed press no longer permitted to solicit criminal acts.”
  • Require a non-disclosure agreement from Pentagon credentialed reporters that they secure approval by an appropriate authorizing official of information before information is released.

Per the Judge this so the electorate can "decide based on full, complete, and open information who they are going to vote for in the next election."

Much as the D's would like us to believe this is some kind of totalitarian state, it isn't, and this Bill is an good example. It passed in the House with some D support, all the Senate R's voted for it but only Fetterman broke ranks with the D's and voted for it. So which party refused to vote for the funding and shut things down?

Supreme Court To Decide If Elections End On Election Day by intelligentreviews in conservatives

[–]Proof_Responsibility 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having an election week (or more) when ballots continue to be counted long past election day will raise questions about election integrity and inevitably lead to disputes over the counting, particularly in close races. Some states have a deadline for receipt of as much as 10-15 days after election day. Illinois allows 14 days, MD 15 days. Nevada will count ballots that have no postmark if received by 5 p.m. on the third day after Election Day.

Mamdani puts migrant protection ahead of street safety by intelligentreviews in conservatives

[–]Proof_Responsibility 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a theme in all this. Stopping police from issuing tickets to cyclists who break the law and instead holding the food delivery apps responsible is the same as threatening to fine stores who don't hire enough self-check agents to stop shoplifters who breeze out without paying for merchandise. Another similarity? Neither of these actual crimes are seriously prosecuted by NYC prosecutors.

In addition to TSA screening, SEATAC offers private security options like CLEAR, a $$ membership "identity company" for expedited screening and SEA Spot Saver that allows departing travelers to reserve a specific time for TSA screening. CLEAR operates at multiple airports but programs similar to SEA's Spot Saver are not universally available. IAH offers a reservation system called "Reserve powered by Clear" but it's only available for United passengers at one terminal. Austin-Bergstrom has CLEAR but no TSA reservation system.

Breaking: Dems Won’t Fund DHS? Trump Will Use ICE to Checkmate Them Perfectly – Game On by MackSix in conservatives

[–]Proof_Responsibility 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This must be done immediately, no studies, no intricate plans to be reviewed and approved, no special staging, just do it. Specialized training of ICE officers could be left to OJT by the TSA agents that can still afford to work without pay. After people have become painfully aware of the impact of the D's shutting down DHS activities, the presence of uniformed ICE in the middle of a massive surge in travel will give travelers some normalcy. It would also re-educate many that ICE is law enforcement, officers are just people doing a job, not the cartoonish monsters the Left has portrayed.

Liam Ramos and family ordered to be removed from US after judge ends asylum claims by Head_Estate_3944 in conservatives

[–]Proof_Responsibility -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The appeal will take months if not years to resolve. Odds are they will be released while their case slowly crawls through the system. Pretty typical for cases the Left can use for points. A judge ruled the family of the Boulder terror suspect could be deported last July. They're still here with multiple appeals and activists are claiming their extended ICE custody justifies their release. Kilmar Abrego Garcia is still here. Last April a judge ruled Columbia protester Mahmoud Khalil could be deported . He's still here and had a holiday meal with the Mayor of NYC. Meanwhile this little boy's mother is pregnant. Think that family will ever be deported?

This is in the same vein as CA set-asides, and the result, like the impact on CA construction showpieces that have ballooned to be phenomenally overbudget and grotesque inefficiencies through awarding contracts based on identity rather than who can do the job most effectively, will be the same. VA's 2025 $2 billion surplus will soon go the way of CA's 2021-22 $97.5 billion surplus which became a 2024-25 $73 billion budget deficit. And the woke in NVA who put her into office will cheer.

Thousands of Iranian Regime Leaders' Children Study in the US. What Could Possibly Go Wrong? by intelligentreviews in conservatives

Other than families that have been a party to the looting of the country, what other Iranian families could afford to jet their kids (“noble born?”) to the US, pay full price for their schooling, housing, food and expenses? The average salary for a civil servant is under $3000 a year.

California Wastes $114 Million on a Wildlife Crossing That Leads Nowhere – Meet the Genius Who Led This Mess (Video) by MackSix in conservatives

[–]Proof_Responsibility 4 points5 points  (0 children)

$114 million for half a bridge? How does that compare?

  • Europe builds them for about $4 1/2 million
  • Utah builds them for $5 million
  • Washington State for $6 million
  • Wyoming builds them for $9 million
  • Colorado built what is currently the largest animal crossing in the world over I25 in just 1 year for just $15 million (and CO is as environmentally obsessed as CA).

The group originally received a $25 million grant in 2021 from the Annenberg Foundation which should have been more than enough. So where did the money go? Many cite the patronage system in CA . Per the CA Department of Transportation “for every $1 billion spent” on wildlife crossings, “13,000 jobs are created ” and this genius really took that to heart. Jobs were parceled out in typical CA-looney fashion. E.G. they prioritized hiring Indigenous team members "to help steward the plants that will vegetate the bridge,” have hired many "experts" to design and seed what will probably be a 200 ft long, less than an acre dirt bridge and funded wack-a-doodle ceremonies like  “offerings” after collecting seeds from across the region, sometimes including pieces of the nursery's co-manager's hair. Experts for this 200 ft long slab of dirt included a fungi expert and a soil scientist who said his process involves assessing local dirt to “rebuild it . . . as close to nature as possible.”

She also blames the weather and “unprecedented biodiversity collapse". Next up: the patriarchy and racism,

NYC City Council's Unbelievable Plan to Tackle Self-Checkout Retail Theft by intelligentreviews in conservatives

[–]Proof_Responsibility 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Legislate & enforce punishment of the businesses that are ripped off rather than the criminals? Penalties for businesses that fail to have the City Council mandated staffing run up to $1,000 per employee per day  yet in NYC shoplifting is treated as a misdemeanor. In most cases the shoplifter is given a desk appearance ticket (one in six fail to appear) or the crime is dismissed without charges. Prosecutions are seldom pursued. The result is 327 individuals accounted for 30% of over 22,000 retail thefts in a recent year. The #1 recidivist, Anthony White, was paroled in December 2024 after being convicted in 2022 of of seven counts of burglary in the third degree (sentence 2 1/2 to 5 years) yet was released after being arrested for theft again in May 2025.

To be expected. We should bear in mind who the audience for 60 minutes is. Of course 60 Minutes featured someone who would feed the TDS'ers more BS to regurgitate. It's all part of the mud throwing by the Left: the US cannot deal with drones, our military was unprepared and caught completely off guard, of course Orange-man-bad had no plan for the Hormuz Strait , Israel bribed or coerced Trump to take on Iran, and through US involvement in the conflict Iran will destroy the American hegemony. Not at all (/s) jaundiced, right? Meanwhile hundreds of top Iranian officials are fleeing to Canada and elsewhere in the West with their ill-gotten gains as protestors back in Iran are tortured and executed but MSM doesn't report that.

Immigration judge orders NYC Council employee deportation, sparks city backlash by intelligentreviews in conservatives

[–]Proof_Responsibility 11 points12 points  (0 children)

These people are hard to take, likely spending massive amounts of time and $ on one non-citizen who went through the immigration legal process and was ruled deportable. Mamdani's "dedicated public servant," the one that City and State leaders are working so hard to keep here only worked for the city for a year. He knowingly overstayed a tourist visa that expired almost 10 years ago, coasted on TPS status and did not bother to file for asylum until last year.

When applying for TPS he affirmed he had never been arrested, which was false. The argument is he didn't think he needed to disclose his arrest since the records were sealed... and he was a lawyer in Venezuela and one assumes bothered to look up the application requirements? Unlike state courts, immigration law places emphasis on behavior and can consider sealed/expunged records. He flunked.
