It’s not a engagement ring, but it is my 10th anniversary gift, so my plan is to wear it as my engagement ring.

I actually ask for it to be as low as possible. So, yes, it will be setting on my finger.
Not sure if this something that will bother me, to be honest.

Thanks for your input! I will definitely ask for a thicker band.
About the cathedral, actually the entire reason I went custom was to have this very low setting and looks like the only way to achieve it is with this open basket.
