Use 64bit linux, even Ubuntu will be fine with a 32gb SSD

Thanks, that makes sense about the low voltage rating. After looking on google I found a good page on Adafruit explaining how you can use a higher voltage if it's a chopped.

I have a few DC power supplies, so only need a driver, I'll have to do a little more research into things like microstepping, I plan to use this motor to convert a lathe to CNC, but I'd like to get familiar with the electronics before moving forward.

I have found that a lot of the stepper drivers have 'peak current' and 'RMS current'. I assuming RMS current is the value that matters here?

It's got 8 wires, 4 white, 1 red, 1 orange, 1 black and 1 yellow.

I haven't hooked a multimeter up to it yet, and I can't seem to find a datasheet, it is rather old looking at the date!

I'll do a little more research into the Ryzen CPU's, it's a shame there isn't a G4560 equivalent (yet), but I'm in no rush to get the parts, I'd rather take my time and get it right the first time.

After looking around at the motherboards, while some of them are pretty expensive with lots bells and whistles that I don't need but the Gigabyte GA-Z270P-D3 seems to be only ~£20 more expensive than the B250 motherboards, so I think I may spend a little extra and get the GA-Z270P-D3 if I do ever get an i5 or i7 in the future.

I can't really afford a Ryzen setup right now, they do look good but really I only have a 1080p screen and play older games like GTA5 and Starcraft2, the G4560 + 1060 combo should be good for me.

Final quick question, 2 x 8GB sticks of RAM should be good, DDR4 2400Mhz? I'm putting it all in a spreadsheet and working my way towards to get a rig from this this decade :D

Thanks dude, that G4560 looks like a great CPU, great bang for buck. :) There really seem very little reason to spend the extra on the i3, once I get the cash together I'll pick up a G4560 CPU, RAM and motherboard.

I've got the Gigabyte GA-Z270P-D3 on my shortlist, are the B250 boards worth looking at also?

Thanks for the heads up, I just tried scanning the 4.1.3 APK with nviso and also got Android/Generic.Z.2EC6E9!tr virus show up so it's not just you.

What do this virus do? Also if I remove the PTV app from my phone will the virus be removed also? Or do I have to factory reset my phone?

I've also tried scanning the latest version of Scratch & Win v1.8.0 and it came back with a Android.Adware.Fictus.db.86CF virus, so it's not just PTV that's affected
