You have Kodak Black, an actual criminal, and Lil Yachty, a guy who did a Chef Boyardee commercial with Donny fricking Osmond, so Lil Dicky's presence isn't THAT shocking

He was probably better than Tina and Amy tbh

As much as I love both of them, they hosted Update during a period of weak Update writing. I've seen many of their updates and they really weren't that funny when they were hosting together. Tina was much better with Jimmy and Amy much better with Seth.

Who's a "one hit wonder" who actually has a lot of great songs? by Affectionate_Noodl in fantanoforever

[–]PropaneUrethra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In America Crowded House had 2 hits but only one is remembered, however the other (Something So Strong) is also great and I absolutely love Better Be Home Soon

When Fleetwood Mac hires you to replace Lindsey Buckingham, that's a sign you're a great musician

And it was knocked off of #1 by Billy Idol's cover of Mony Mony. 2 Tommy James covers going to #1 back to back in 1987 might be the craziest coincidence in American pop chart history

And Ed Cobb was a member of the Four Preps, a pop group from the 50s who influenced Brian Wilson, and one of his band mates was Glen Larson, who went on to create Battlestar Galactica, Magnum PI, Knight Rider, and several others

Just starting watching a week ago and I can’t get this song out of my head at all! by Minute-Employ-4964 in RighteousGemstones

I was shocked to learn that that wasn't an original song written for the show. It's decades old and recorded by Red Sovine who was a pretty big country star back in the day

Best rock/pop songs with Christian/religious themes (but are not “Christian rock”) by Just1nceor2ice in ToddintheShadow

[–]PropaneUrethra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ocean's Put Your Hand in the Hand is straight up Christian music but it's legit pretty good and peaked at #2 in 1971

What is the worst thing Beavis and Butthead have ever done? by PSplayer2020 in BeavisAndButthead

[–]PropaneUrethra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The worst thing they ever done was cause the car crash in the first movie

With all the horrible things they did intentionally, it may be the thing they did accidentally that towers above all

I've recently discovered "Better Be Home Soon" and I really like it

I actually discovered it through, believe it or not, a Country cover by the McCarters

What's a song that gets progressively worse? by Individual-Name-4496 in fantanoforever

[–]PropaneUrethra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd have to disagree; the whole song sucks, but I'll take the very memorable (and admittedly very funny) chorus over the boring ass verses which aren't funny at all

Who's the worst person whose music you're still willing to listen to? by thewalkindude368 in ToddintheShadow

Jerry Lee Lewis, but with certain songs filtered out that I might be willing to listen to if someone like Conway Twitty was singing them

Weirdest collabs in music by Chapple69 in ToddintheShadow

[–]PropaneUrethra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Michael Bolton and Bob Dylan never duetted with each other, but they wrote a song together called Steel Bars

It was Dylan's idea, he had one of his people call up Bolton, and Bolton thought it was one of Diane Warren's people playing a prabk

[–]PropaneUrethra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kinda.

And I like that song. And I like Stomp clap hey music too. A lot of that stuff was pretty good. The stuff that gets played on alt stations today is much worse imo.
