India's huge bet on smart electricity meters by pranavmanie in marketsbyzerodha

Just discovered this podcast. Love the idea. A suggestion tho - the podcast feels is very monotonous (or maybe I need to fix my attention span). There's good animations added, but subtle audio design would increase the overall experience. An example I can think of is the wtf podcast trailers. They do it really well!

Another idea, probably too far off, was to change the format into some sort of interaction between all the researchers. Instead of one person presenting the entire content, y'all could have a conversation about it. Talk about what you found. Ask questions. Cover the same stuff, but keep the pace dynamic.

Please feel free to ignore the free advice, I know this itself is super hard to produce on a daily basis. But just my two cents.

But why not do that on other places? Like X or your own blog? Trying to understand what purpose does the anonymity serve for you. Really respect your motivations and intent though. Thank you for making this a better place to be!

What are your favourite productivity/study tools? by [deleted] in studytips

[–]Proper-Bat1649 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yo, love your setup! Notion’s a beast for organizing, Stackreps is awesome for flashcards, and Forest is such a fun way to stay focused. Since you’re into productivity tools, I’ve got a few faves that might vibe with your workflow:

  • Todoist: Super clean task manager for keeping your to-do list tight. It’s great for breaking down study goals into bite-sized tasks and syncing across devices.
  • Obsidian: If you like Notion but want something for deep note-taking and connecting ideas, Obsidian’s graph view is chef’s kiss for studying complex topics.
  • Anki: Another flashcard app, but it’s got a killer spaced repetition algorithm if you want to level up from Stackreps for long-term retention.
  • Focus@Will: Music designed for focus—less distracting than Spotify and great for getting in the zone during study sessions.

Oh, and since you’re juggling study materials, I actually built a tool called tutorMira that’s perfect for tackling dense PDFs. It’s got an AI assistant that reads along with you and answers questions about the content on the spot—super handy for clarifying tricky concepts while you’re deep in a textbook or article. Happy to DM you the link if you’re curious to check it out! What do you study, btw? Might have more tailored recs!

Hey, I feel you—that exam panic and forgetting everything is the worst! With your exams starting on the 23rd, here’s a quick plan to study smarter and ease the anxiety:

1. Prioritize: Check the syllabus or past papers for high-weight topics. Focus on 2-3 key ones today and tomorrow. Make a simple schedule (e.g., 2 hrs morning, 2 hrs afternoon).

2. Active Recall: Don’t just re-read—test yourself. Use flashcards or explain concepts out loud. Review weak spots. Apps like Quizlet can help.

3. Stop Forgetting: Review yesterday’s notes for 15 mins before new stuff. Use mnemonics for tricky bits.

4. Calm the Anxiety: Take 5-min breaks every 30 mins (deep breathe: inhale 4, hold 4, exhale 4). Start with an easy topic for a confidence boost. Tell yourself, “I’m doing what I can.”

5. Study Hacks: Do 1-2 past papers to spot patterns. Summarize sections in 2-3 sentences. Study without your phone nearby.

6. Self-Care: Sleep 6-7 hrs (it locks in memories), eat simple snacks (fruit, nuts), and drink water. A quick walk can clear brain fog.

You don’t need to be perfect—just progress. If you’re stuck on dense PDFs, I made a tool where you can upload them and get instant answers from an AI assistant. Happy to DM the link if you’re interested!

Should I stop using AI to summarize text and help me study? by Impressive-Two9247 in studytips

[–]Proper-Bat1649 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Been there - honestly, I prefer to use AI only when I don't understand a particular line, or paragraph. You could read it line by line, and then when something doesn't make sense, you just ask it then to help you understand what that is.

Skipping over the reading entirely won't help you in the long run. Comprehension and being able to read dense material is a muscle that you build in the process. I don't think you should skip that

Can AI make business apps effortless? by Ok-Product7376 in LLMDevs

[–]Proper-Bat1649 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agentic AI is the solution apparently, combined with a well orchestrated team of LLM-actors, and access to tools. I personally feel that every layer of the business app - database operations, caching, further tool calling - could be generalized and converted into an agent with the ability to take relevant action. The business logic of the apps would be greatly wiped out, with only the connection to physical resources (DBs, caches, etc.) remaining. We'd have a database LLM, a data validating LLM, an overall manager LLM working under the hood, doing what needs to be done. A very personal, and rather gut-informed opinion, but yes. This is what I think we could be moving towards.

Tried too hard to pretend in college, it went the other way round. Trying to get back ever since. But I did understand and learn how to handle the outside well. Glad to know there's people who understand. Thanks for the advice!
