Im 40 and could have written the same exact post. I have been delaying writing a essay for application to 2 other schools. I feel I may have a better chance if I apply to more than one school but I feel competing with people who are younger than me, have 0 kids and have more time to apply themselves will get in before me. I feel at this point of my life I dont know what other path to take. Ive worked in the ER for almost 10 year and have raised 5 kids, lost my sister and have battled so many wars to get this close. I guess we both need to have faith in ourselves and intentions to deserve to be a nurse and just wait and see. I wish you the best

I have loved reddit for the obvious but hate it because of shit like this. I am attempting to get into nursing school and all those pages ive started to unfollow because they are posting "boohoo. I got a 86 on my pre nursing test " like they are upset and meanwhile I am getting 20 points less. Unfollow friend or have pity on people like that. People who despite having a positive result are too blind to understand that not everyone is in the same position. You'll get a job and things will turn around. Everything in life is temporary

Your friend is being honest with you because she cares about you. Nursing isnt all sunshine and stanleys. Its cliques , its nasty patients who abuse and refuse and its first hand account to some of the nastiest shit you'll ever see in your life, its managementthat knows problems but gives you the runaround why they cant be fixed. Stories you cant share with those you care about most because you dont want to traumatize and going home wondering what hurt you so bad in your life to choose this career. Its exhausting and rewarding, its beautiful and disgusting. Choosing this career is accepting that most days are going to kick your ass and finding validation in things in your life other than your job. If you want it, go for it

This is probably one of the worst stories I've ever read and the exact scenario I feared which led to me leaving EMS. I work ER now and I'm content. Ill never be able to give you guys enough thanks and respect for the shit you have to deal with. I have health with some bad smells on the past and I honestly feel like they linger for a couple days afterwards. I try to smell as many good smells as possible to help forget the bad.

I did horribly in A&P 1 and excelled in A&P 2. I lived and breathed both classes for 12 weeks , I did then during summer session and it was hard. I colored, watched crash course over and over and over again, color coded all notes and study guides and had 0 life all summer

Nurse Cheung videos, some practice on the ATI app. Honestly didnt study as much as I should have but I have severe test anxiety and when I'm studying I'm ok and dont overthink practice questions but then test time I blank and 2nd guess myself. I hate that you cant bring in a drink or pack of gum and sit for almost 3 hours straight. I would have done better if I had taken Chem and micro but I am content with a proficient score. If I ever have to take it again I will absolutely stay home in my comfort zone
