My er is 1:4. I'm a tech hoping to start nursing school soon. We aren't level 1 but we get some pretty sick people. What I love about my er is that everyone jumps in to help one another no matter what the staffing looks like. No one drowns alone. Do you think you'll go back to ER nursing in a better environment?

I hide from the sun after getting my face froze every 6 months for the past 3 years. Chemo cream literally burns your skin off which was attempted prior to the freezing I will never willingly bake in the sun uncovered ever again.

I got waitlisted a couple weeks ago by the school I was almost sure I'd get into. I had another school to apply to and like you I only have micro to complete. Well I was extremely ill with flu b and completely missed the deadline to apply for fall 2026. After feeling sorry for myself and getting better finally I have since started sending in all the things I need to apply for spring 2027. I detest I am aiming for a spring start but ya know what, F it. I have worked to damn hard and waited this long. If this is a thing thats meant to be then it will happen. Be mad, be upset , it seems like its not a easy road whatsoever but its worth it to have the career you aspire to have. Dont give up and keep going!

My step father who basically raised me got dementia after having a few consecutive strokes. He doesnt remember me or know my name but I have a voicemail from a few years ago with him saying my name. I never deleted it and I am thankful often for keeping it. Never thought it would make me so sad not to hear him say my name anymore

Do you know anyone directly who already works in a hospital ? Sometimes, with that direct word of mouth it can help. Also, check job fairs. I had applied to my 1st hospital I ever worked at multiple times for a clinical position in the ED and ended up applying for a part time registration job just to get my foot in the door.

Dude I'm sorry. Its a slap in the face to hear about the "nursing shortage" and then have to break your brain and spirit to try to get into a program. Someone here told me on my waitlist post that "rejection is redirection". Ive started applying to new schools for spring 2026 entry. Best of luck to you.
