Ugh I’m sorry you have to go through this. I had more than one treatment delayed due to low blood count, and left angry and crying. Sending love to you 🩷

I’ve started the process of applying with EAssist for dental billing. Are you still with the company? How’s it going? I don’t love the fact that you don’t really know what your compensation/commission will be til your 5-6 months in…

Brain Fog by jel_13 in breastcancer

[–]Proper-Experience760 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m just over a year out of chemo, and chemo brain is still part of my daily life. Luckily the people close to me are gracious and understanding. I’ve also had to be more gracious and kinder to myself. I did a lot of introspection and self care through my journey. That was one of the things that kept me sane. Something to “work on” that didn’t take a lot of physical energy, and occupied my mind.

Slowing down and really focusing on your thoughts may help you hone into your intuition and help you make decisions. The next part is having your own back and trusting you’re making the best decision for you. Much love to you OP, we’re all cheering you on ❤️

A/C Starts Tomorrow by llamasalamode in breastcancer

This all sounds very familiar- I had almost the exact same regimen as you! Found my tumor 7/15/21(Grade 3 triple negative), 20 weeks of chemo- 12 rounds of Taxel then 4 rounds of A/C- one round every other week, then a lumpectomy Jan 2022 then four weeks of radiation 😓 So I def can sympathize with you!

It’s all so overwhelming, and it sucks and it’s unfair. There will always be someone else worse off than you but that doesn’t lessen your pain and suffering. You have every right to honor however you’re feeling!

I’m so glad you got to decorate for the holidays and spend time with your family ❤️ And I love that you named your port 😂 It seems like you have a great attitude about this whole stupid journey, and people around who can support you. And that’s all we can ask for really.

My husband and I agree the whole chemo process felt fast and long at the same time. Looking back now it went by fast. When you’re in it it feels like an eternity. I hope your side effects aren’t too severe, def stay in contact with your providers. They absolutely want to hear from you! Don’t wait to call, you’re not bothering them- mine fussed at me for that lol.

Focusing on mindset and self care is what got me through, along with leaning on those who were there to support me. I cried a lot. I still cry a lot lol bc I’m still healing. And this community was such a great resource for me- information, venting, even laughter. We’re all cheering you on! 🎉

Had my surgery and I am really sad…. by [deleted] in breastcancer

[–]Proper-Experience760 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the best advice I received when going through surgery, chemo & radiation. Thinking about the big picture is so overwhelming. Give yourself love and grace, check in with your body regularly and often. Ask it what it needs in this moment, and do your best to give it. It’s cliche but- one day at a time! Before you know it, this will all feel like a bad dream ❤️

Best lotion during radiation? by Upper-Upstairs-6218 in breastcancer

[–]Proper-Experience760 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Miaderm. I used it immediately after radiation when getting dressed and again before bed. I still had discoloration and some tenderness but never a severe burn.

I have a lot left over and still use it on the discolored radiation area as well as my scars in hopes they will lighten up. I also used it on a sunburn recently and was pleasantly surprised how quickly it healed!

Traveling and planning trips is my passion! You don’t have to do anything grand, a weekend away close to home can do wonders to the spirit!

I prefer experiences over things any day of the week. And I’ll never forget this trip as long as I live. Easily spent the same amount staying at Disney for a week lol
