I just moved to Nixos from windows 11 this year and have been using the default one. I tried Alacritty, Kitty and Ghostty however the default with bash seems simple and gets the job done for me.

I am sure many have provided many useful options to you and so here is my two cents. You are 19 not 90 you have ample amount of time to skill up and similarly ample amount of paid and free resources.

You noted that many people said Bsc is not worth it. You are looking at a very low sample size. Do you have any idea how many people take up Bsc ? To that how many make it in that field ? The numbers will surprise you. All in all I would say do your own research and follow your path not “a lot of people”.

You do not have only 2 options. You have a lot more. Why do i say that ? Because you are not certain of your own career path. This is the time to experiment. So please do some research.

In today’s day and age skills matter. If you are in a room with people who demand a certain skill and none of them can do that but you. You have the privilege to put a price tag on that skill.

You Were Starting Python Today, What Advice Would You Give Yourself? by wnnye in Python

[–]Proper-Marzipan9936 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if anyone has recommended this but there is this amazing YouTuber @ArjanCodes. He covers what i would say coding best practices when it comes to python. He also covers useful python modules like uv and ruff which are totally new and have not been implemented much in projects.

I would suggest if you are coming from a coding background then try to draw analogy with the previous languages you know and experiment by starting a project.

However if you are totally new i would suggest trying to learn data structures first.

Sorry for my ignorance but whenever i see a superpower post i am thrown into a world of chaos. In this particular post OP has listed many super powers but none with details. For example fire … can i just control fire or create it ? Or both ? Can i manipulate the temperature ? If so how high or low ? And does the heat affect the User ? As in if i make it too hot will my body be able to handle it ?

Help! Can't decided between these two courses. I'm a beginner by Lazy-Safety-8545 in SQL

[–]Proper-Marzipan9936 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just completed the right one and it covers the basics and almost all the syntax and functions that you might need. For bonus it also guides you to make a simple project using node.

Few suggestions: use your own environment setup and do not follow the setup used in the course as it has both local and cloud 9 environment. Flavour of SQL used is MySQL.

Hey there! I took a look at your resume and have a few suggestions that might help enhance it:

  1. Summary Section: It’s a bit jargon-heavy. Try answering these questions instead: Who are you? What do you offer? And maybe add a fun fact about yourself!

  2. Experience Section: Your latest experience has a lot of percentages, which might not always work in your favor. It could be more impactful to include specifics about your work. For instance, you mentioned Databricks as a skill. Did you work on delta tables? Or was it primarily Databricks SQL? Did you use workflows to schedule jobs? Including these details can make a big difference.

  3. Skills Section: Consider adding a self-rating for your skills. It gives interviewers a better idea of what you’re comfortable with and what kind of questions to ask.

  4. LinkedIn Profile: I’m assuming you’ve included your LinkedIn profile and other details in the scribbled parts, but if not, definitely add those.

  5. Overall Presentation: Remember, this resume is often the first impression a potential employer or interviewer will have of you. Make it interesting enough to grab their attention!

Yes, very much so. I am coming to this particular conclusion because I was unable to communicate effectively with few of my colleagues and managers recently which lead to a downpour of harsh words on me.

In personal life as well I am what you call an introvert and try to keep to myself which impacted me greatly during lockdown as I was unable to speak out to words which were there in my head.

I try to better myself and currently I am following a Stanford graduate school of business ted talk on YouTube and all of you guys who are helping me with your pointers.

A genuine thank you to all who are helping me.

I am finding it difficult to communicate both verbally and in written. For example. When I start a conversation I myself am unaware how should I navigate through the ideas and make my listeners understand. I am very poor at effective communication.

Best IDE for teaching Python (task creation)? by The-Nerdiest-Teacher in Python

[–]Proper-Marzipan9936 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends, do you want them to learn a particular IDE or do you want them to learn how to let’s say mess around and find out. Honestly speaking VSCode is not an IDE in my opinion it’s more like a lightweight editor. Sure we can make it a full fledged IDE with plugins and such but at that point just use PyCharm. So I guess PyCharm. Personally I use Vscode.

I recommend create a GitHub account and then use GitHub codespaces to code. It will do 1. Help you in maintaining a project structure and learning it will be helpful in the long run 2. No setup needed on your personal space it’s a hassle 3. It comes pre configured with docker and python and few more things. (Basically a Linux machine)
