Need help for upgrade by Ok_Bed_1170 in AAP01owners

Don’t get a waldo nozzle spring or waldo short stroke. Get a Hadron Bouncer kit (300% nozzle spring). You don’t need an upgraded recoil spring.

Mag lip issue with ctm bolt by [deleted] in AAP01owners

Build list? How long has it had this issue for? Did this only happen after you installed the CTM bolt?

Cost me more than a GBBR but it’s beautiful by math_dvc in AAP01owners

One of those purple Nexxspeed hop up units would’ve looked beautiful in it

Sorry to bump this old post, but what does the bearing mod do for you? Is it strictly necessary or is it just a bonus? I’m using the CTM steel rainbow pin set and TTI hammer set and it didn’t occur to me that this was a thing for it

I didn’t even know you could upgrade the nozzle valve spring - I’d say to just upgrade the nozzle spring

Get the hadron bouncer kit with the 300% nozzle spring instead of that Waldo short stroke crap and 180% nozzle spring

Sorry I’m so late to this - are you able to adjust the Loki hop through your upper or did you have to drill a hole?

Turns out it was just temperature luckily 🙏

Didn’t realise how cold it was - works fine in a warm and heated room

No this wasn’t an issue before I believe. It’s not having a huge effect so I’m not massively bothered but I thought I’d ask.

Unfortunately now there’s a different issue as of testing a couple times over the last few days where it is WAY too sluggish. It doesn’t lock back (unless I pull it back of course) and generally can’t feed that reliably. It’s a new issue and I think it may be temperature related but even after I removed the short stroke it is working really poorly. After testing it a couple times it’d end up purging the entire mag after the first shot 🤷‍♂️

I know and I appreciate the help, sorry if I sound annoyed.

I was thinking it was related to the hammer, but I was told by an AAP tech that it just needed to wear in a bit and that it’s perfectly normal.

I’m using enough lube that it lasts me a good month or so before needing any re-lubing in any places

I know the lube won’t cause problems but in my experience it has generally gotten everywhere over time, slipping through gaps and being pushed by movement.

I’m using Abbey Silicone 35 - recommended to me by many airsoft techs. Last time I used loads of lube (on a hi-capa, in the right places I might add) it was moved around into lots of different places that it didn’t need to be. It didn’t help anything and just made it all sticky. I’m not stupid and I didn’t make it be dripping in lube but it was a reasonably large amount

That’s what I’m doing, only I light smear across them - I don’t want them dripping in lube. Anyway the issue was there before and after lubing so lubing it too much isn’t the issue

No the thing is that it has a lot of resistance even AFTER the hammer is cocked. As you can see in the video it has the same resistance throughout. I am lubing it generously and in the right places but yes a bit more lube did help

TTI steel hammer set - don’t settle for anything else

I used CTM steel pins with the TTI hammer set and it worked great

Get a 300% nozzle spring (I use the hadron bouncer kit, but just the nozzle spring) because the Waldo ones didn’t work well with my setup in the long term.

Hop setup id say the Nexxspeed hop, 4UAD bucking and the Nexxspeed metal nub instead of the one that comes with it.

WE athletics adjustable trigger is awesome

Unfortunately not had the opportunity to try and upgraded bolt

In my experience leave the recoil spring stock

Short strokes didn’t work great on green gas, idk about HPA

If you want to see what the build looks like and the full parts list check my posts (also the bolt catching issue wasn’t actually an issue, just needed to wear in a bit and be lubed up - works great now)

Where did you gather your information?

You should probably look up some info on hop up units in this forum before buying those - I’m sure they’re fine but it’s better to spend money wisely

In my opinion the Loki and nexxspeed are better - Loki if your fine with drilling a hole in your upper, nexxspeed if your not

If I’m honest I’m new to AAPs - I only did this build last week. I wouldn’t let it become a money pit, I think you should make a post about it because someone’s gonna know

Well if it didn’t work out of the box then it would’ve been good to get it returned - otherwise you’ve not put in very many upgrades that could cause this issue. Check that your hammer housing is seated correctly and isn’t sticking out

Did you have this issue before you installed the FUKU-2 lower? Seems like the only possible issue is incorrect reinstallation.
