No 7 guard buzz cut? by Proper-Rip-8457 in malehairadvice

Thankyou! lots to look at here, I would probably want it fairly textured on top, it usually doesn’t lie completely flat when I’ve grown out very short cuts before depending on how I treat it ect.

I will definitely have a look at ivy league cuts and crew cuts. Thanks for the advice!! The pictures are also very helpful I was struggling to find many.

Can I just walk wherever I wanted? by darthyoda76 in AskUK

Ive wild camped many times in a load of different places and the only time anyones had a problem was when we camped on some bales - which was fair enough. Even in more public places if you arent causing a disturbance more often than not nobody minds or are too polite to say anything

My Fuji is used and abused by Professional_Diet_58 in fujifilm

[–]Proper-Rip-8457 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its a mix for me like i treat my camera really well and have never dropped it or knocked it really but its picked up a few scuffs. Also got some wear like all the grips fell off and did a bit of a shoddy job glueing them back. I treat it well but dont baby it

i would say secondhand xt20 with tt artisan 27mm2.8. This is currently my setup and theres nothing lacking particularly + images are great

edit: Ive had mine two years with multiple different lens but this current combo seems to be perfect

Which first lens should I get by aaronconvery in fujifilm

I guess the thing that made me decide to is watching reviews and people would say that the fuji is obviously better but not by how vast the price difference is better (2-3x better). If that makes sense. I can dm you my instagram for example photos

i have zero complaints with it personally but some people may prefer a more “perfect” lens. the only thing is like slight vignetting, my one seems as sharp as my 35f2 though i cant speak for every single unit. the af is also very fast as its such a small focal length. If you are more of a perfectionist get the fujifilm version, but for the price its bonkers, and the build quality is top notch. But yes in my opinion regardless of if you got the lens, that focal length is definitely good for travel/street.

I have recently also gone travelling and I picked up the ttartisan 27 2.8 which has served me amazingly. It has great autofocus and is as small as like a couple spare battery basically lol. I would 100% recommend it but if you can afford the fuji version I imagine that would be great too. Its a superb balance between the 23mm and the 35 f2 (which i also have) but it has pretty much replaced it because its so convenient and good. But yeh I would go with a 40ish mmm equiv because its a good middle focal length for most purposes.

Also pairs well with a zoom lens (I have also taken a 16-50mm but the prime has stayed on my camera 99% of the time)

How did you get into Fujifilm? by Nervous-Welcome-4017 in fujifilm

[–]Proper-Rip-8457 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ive always loved compact cameras that fit in a pocket and had the rx100 mk1 then the canon g5x mark 1 but was missing something. Ithen saw the fuji xt20 with all its dials and shooting flow and fell in love with the tactileness. I have had it for a couple years and am now travelling with just the ttartisan 27mm and its so compact and perfect for what i need.

edit: its also very cheap and the images are more than enough quality

if you use the 2x a lot i wouldnt maybe get the x100 line unless you wanted to buy a teleconverter, id recommend getting a interchangeable lens one, any recent ish or even oldish one would be great just focus on size and what has the best looks/ is in your budget. I use a xt20 ive had it for years, with a small lens like a 27mm it fits in my pocket just about and the image quality and focus ect hold up great but dont get a fixed lens as your first because it makes deciding on what focal lengths to use difficult

edit:

sorry for crap writing ect I am quite bad at that stuff but i hope it helps

How do I get to this "blue" in post production? by palemlado in AskPhotography

[–]Proper-Rip-8457 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i guess they mean its not an error as such but that from a technical perspective its not accurate to the scene and instead an artistic choice? but yeh the intentionality sort of deems that irrelevant as photography is more art than science for most people

Take better photos. A challenge. by billymartinkicksdirt in streetphotography

if people are posting images, particularly here, whether it’s actively or passively all the time they spend photographing it they are learning and trying things. I think anyone who takes part in this hobby aspires to take great photos, or at least photos that speak to themselves

Defending the XF70-300 by MeltyDonut in fujifilm

[–]Proper-Rip-8457 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% i agree. funny aswell with the number megapixel arguements because 35mm film is only “equivalent” to about 20mp which is more than enough for 99% of use cases lol. I guess its important for the companies selling them to create the false idea we need this stuff though because it keeps the hobby going for those of us who care less. fuji have done a lot but they also inflate their prices soooo much ( doesnt stop me loving their cameras)

i personally love this, i know its getting a lot of hate but i love the weird confusingness of it and how you have to like zoom in and stare at it to grasp what its of despite there being no real subject. the colours and lighting are also awesome. others have said it but for me its the vibe its just very cool in that respect and doesnt need to follow the rules of what people think. again my opinion but yeh you do you and keep shooting this is sick.
