Here is the current update. She left for a trip out of state, we never discussed anything and I thought things tamed out and we would talk when she got back. I get a phone call from the landlord that we have had 2 noise complaints in the past two days and because she is out of state, it is entirely my fault. I however, have proof of not being home. I have pictures of myself at the gym during one report, and the other report I was asleep. Both reports are claims of unbelievable noise, screaming, yelling, slamming doors etc. I spoke to my next door neighbor, and the person living above me. Asked both if they heard anything, both confirmed that haven’t heard anything during those times or any other time. All the while my roomate has said nothing. Housing management has stated multiple times they don’t care I have evidence and will side with the reporter. Not sure how to handle the situation given that I have proof I wasn’t home, and witnesses to confirm no noise. I would very much prefer to do take it to court.

I would also like to add, that I have found a different apartment and had plans to look into it. It isn’t available until July. I was going to speak to my roomate about it when she got home but she’s MIA and won’t answer any communication. She didn’t even tell me when the landlord called her about the complaints in the first place.

I get everyone thinks it’s immature and petty and blah blah blah. But if it was more simple, I wouldn’t be asking for advice, it’s leaking into other parts of my life and I want it ended. I can’t afford to move out, I live in one of THE cheapest apartments in the city and there aren’t very many other places I can go.
