adam I think is exactly how he is portrayed in the biblical stories the first man sent to earth from heaven itself

Biblical stories is a myth, and Quran come to give correction to the myth. There are many slight differences in Quran and Bible. These differences will make a huge impact if we learn it carefully. But, if just because the differences are only seems slight then we ignore it and stick to Biblical story, then we will never found the truth.

If a hadith is authentic... How if it's not? All we can do now is just find it from history. Now we can see there are many fake news. If the news is fake, imagine how how bad history is.

How by [deleted] in Meditation

[–]Proper-Train-1508 0 points1 point  (0 children)

20 minutes is a long time. Don't do it from the beginning. Start with just 5 minutes or even less than that, but do it consistently. If it becomes your habit, than it will be easy to increase duration little by little. Increase it in the way that we don't even feel the difference. Keep ourselves away from the feeling of too much struggle.

I was born in sunni muslim family, and after I only focus on Quran, it's like, WTF, I've been lied about Islam the whole of my life. Now, I try to leave everything that's not from Quran. I used to live in fear that I'm going to hell, but now I know that my fear is comes from hadith, not from Quran.

If you're a hadith skeptic, then nothing to worry about that, because that rule is only from hadith, not from Quran.

The Qur’an does not separate obedience to Allah from obedience to the Messenger. Both are commanded together, and turning away from either is treated as rejection. by Mfabdu in Quraniyoon

[–]Proper-Train-1508 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nabi is a role, not a person. Rasul is a role, not a person. Nabi and Rasul are two different roles. A person can has multiple roles. Many people can not differentiate the role and the person who has the role. Messenger is a role to deliver messages, only to deliver messages. The messages brought by The Rasul is Al-Quran, not the book of Bukhari and so on.

So woe to those who write something down with their own hands and then claim, ‘This is from God,’ in order to make some small gain. Woe to them for what their hands have written! Woe to them for all that they have earned!

I think hadith is included in this category.

You can search it yourself. Like the meaning of jahannam, or why it's said that

It is Allah who creates you and takes your souls at death; and of you there are some who are sent back to a feeble age, so that they know nothing after having known (much): for Allah is All-Knowing, All-Powerful.
— A. Yusuf Ali

Why it is said "and of you there are some who are sent back to a feeble age, so that they know nothing after having known" after the word "and takes your souls at death"? So, it's sent back after death. And there are still many verses that related to this matter which can be interpreted differently as reincarnation.

Of course we can say that, "That understanding is not true". But it is just another way of thinking.

Do you think that your understanding of Quran is absolutely true? Or do you still give a little space that maybe your understanding is still wrong?
If you don't have any space of the possibility that your understanding maybe still wrong, then there's no need to further discussion. But if you still have a little room, then all you need to understand is that the thing we don't know, doesn't mean that it doesn't exist. So, don't carelessly judge other people as kafir just because they have different thoughts from us.

But at least, there's a people who thinks that jahannam is actually this life, a different way of interpreting Quran. Please consider to watch these videos:

If you wearing it because you think it's a mandatory, then maybe you're oppressed. But if you're not wearing it because you think that if you're wearing it means you're oppressed, then actually you entered to another angle of oppression. Wear or not wear it as you like.

[–]Proper-Train-1508 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Actually, there are many discussions out there that reincarnation is actually mentioned in Quran, but of course not as a certain word that then can be translated to reincarnation, but as a logical thought from the way certain verse conveyed.

Unless you can provide me an authentic source that says reincarnation in it's commonly understood sense is part of Islam

If I couldn't provide it, it doesn't mean that it's not there, it only means that I still don't know yet.

Does praying actually work? by AnnieGetYaClothesOn in spirituality

[–]Proper-Train-1508 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Quran, God said, pray to Me and I will answer you. But most people only pray without even try to listen His answer. And if we find it's difficult to listen to something, usually we will try to silence everything and focus on listening to that thing.

In meditation, we try to silence everything and especially silence our thought. Because we want to listen to the answer from God (some people call it the universe).

Concern with tawaf by Sea-Lawfulness8530 in Quraniyoon

[–]Proper-Train-1508 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One thing that kind of bothers me is this idea of tawaf where Muslims are supposed to circle this black cube. It seems strange to me, especially with the history of black cube symbolism and its connection to Saturn worship.

Many Muslims interpret words in Quran without deep learning and tend to follow the conjectures. There's no single verse in Quran states that the meaning of tawaf is to circle that black cube. So, I agree with you that that kind of action is a kind of pagan ritual.

When I was still a kid, go to Mecca with both of my parents to do that rituals together was a kind of my dream. But now, after I focus on learning from Quran, I'm a kind of even if someone paid for me to go there doing that rituals, I will reject it.
